So what. Ronaldo misses more direct freekicks per season than most teams even get to take.
Was not talking about Ronaldo, bro. And penalty kicks are just a little easier to score than free kicks. Just a little though. By the way, Ronaldo scored a free kick yesterday. :p

Messi shouldn't be taking penalties. Aguero is a better spot-kick taker. Especially recently.

You serious? We were nothing but lucky tonight and also with the refs. I never understood the national hype about this team, only based on a qualifying gam against freaking Ireland, and fucking friendly games. We looked below meh in the qualifying rounds.

Just stop. The only thing more annoying than Ronaldo scoring “zero” goals is Messi missing a penalty. Too many immature idiots always have to turn every football related discussion into a retarded discussion about Ronaldo vs. Messi.

I can’t wait till they retire.

Because the level of elite club football (Top 5 leagues/CL etc) is way higher than NT football these days.
But that dosen’t explain how normally great players look so average. Conte showed otherwise, when he coached Italy. He took the job seriously. Todays national football is nothing but a gimmick.

You know a agree with you here, but this world cup simply has too many shit teams playing the tournamemt. The same thing happened to The Euro’s.

I'll also add that one of the main shortcoming of modern football is that too much emphasis is on athleticism and fitness, and not enough on technique
This is exactly what I was gonna say. The day we turned our attention to producing horses, skills went out the window. It’s 80% physicality 20% technique and it should be the other way around.

So what happens nowadays is every single fucker that shows just a glimpse of talent he’s hyped up to the sky. Pogba is a good example, he’s good but never really was that good. Pretty much every new “promising” player now is only good enough for today’s standard.

:agree: too many athletes, too few football players

Messi is a poor penalty taker though. He misses one in four. That's a lot. That doesn't really make him less of a genius, but it does mean it would be smarter to let someone else take them.

He might be, but that’s not my point. I simply hate all the Ronaldo vs. Messi debate and how every football related topic is easily turned into something about these two.
