Beautiful to see him fuck up

Lost all respect for him after that retirement u-turn just to play for that cunt of a club

Lol what? We essentially forced him into retirement a year early, which he accepted for the club. Then one of the biggest clubs in the world offered him a contract, so he got the final year he wanted at a top club.

I mean, it might work out badly for him if he continues to make mistakes, and he might wish he had stayed retired, but I don't think many people would have turned the move down. Problem for Tek is that he's always been a chill individual, and if he doesn't have a lot of hunger left then you lose concentration, which is basically the death knell for goalkeeping, and the thing he has most struggled with in his career.

He's only 34 so there is no reason physically why he couldn't play for more years, but he's never wanted to play to 40, and once you have mentally stopped it's hard to come back.

That also worked in his favor for a majority of his career. He didn't meltdown like De Gea did for example after making a string of mistakes. Dude would just get up and get on with it. And make a mistake in the next game as well :D But then get back to his best.

I dont agree with this ‘we forced him into early retirement’ argument. He could have terminated the contract and then went to play elsewhere, no issue.

But then all the retirement BS only to open his legs like a skanky whore when pimp daddy Barca wanted a GK? Classless

Pulling off a Robben move to help his childhood club would have been understandable, but this is pure amateurish.

He didn't want to step down to a lesser club, it was Juve, a club like Juve, or nothing.

"I wanted to continue helping the team [Juventus] this season, so what happened was up to me. I didn't expect to be left out of the project - I never would've imagined it," revealed Szczesny

"At the beginning of last season I spoke frankly with sporting director Giuntoli when we were due to discuss my renewal. I told him that, at the end of the 2024/25 season, I would have retired, but then I read the news about Di Gregorio in the newspapers.

"I thought I would've been second choice [this season] because Matia Perin wanted to go to another club.

"When they signed him [Di Gregorio] however, we discussed the termination of my contract. It was the club's decision and I did not agree with it, but I accepted it.

"I wanted another year at Juve. I felt I could still give a lot. I have no hard feelings towards Giuntoli, I still respect the club and I will continue to be a Juve fan."

“In life, I try not to believe in destiny. If Ter Stegen’s injury had occurred when the transfer window was open, I wouldn’t have come here. If it had happened two weeks later, I also wouldn’t have come here because it would have been too late, and I wouldn’t have gotten off the couch.

“This was my last chance to prepare to play at a high level. I believe it must have been written in the stars somewhere.”

Tek seems like a pretty cool guy but he was no better than an incredibly average player.

I'm surprised he is only 1 of only 3 Tuz favorites. How many people here actually likes him that much?

That just shows how salty the forum is...

Dybala was 10x better than Tek and did so much more for Juventus..
Here's the thing, I don't disagree with your statement 100% but let's be honest. Tek was a top 3 GK in Serie A for basically every year he was with us except basically one turd of a year. Dybala was a top 3 player at his position in Serie far less consistently than Tek and was not as durable or as much a leader imo.

Maybe this is just a situation where attacking players get more fanfare and highlights than keepers but Tek legitimately kept this club competitive for long stretches of time barring like one bad season I can remember. He organized our defense on deadball situations better than most keepers, he was a strong leader and respected, and he left like a legend who respects his club should by not dragging us through extension bullshit, demanding to be sold, or threatening to sue us for wages.

But yes, I would agree that Dybala scored more goals than Tek so Dybala is clearly the way better player /s

And for reference, I voted Dybala Legend.

Making Barcelona shit consolidates that position.
He is exposed, Conceding fewer goals in Serie A is never a good indicator of a goalkeeper's quality, thanks to the defensive tactics that Allegri implemented for years. at Juve, He would receive 4 goals in ten games, but in La Liga, four goals in one game.

He was average at best. Over achieved in his first couple of years due to Juventus having a strong squad and amazing defence in a piss poor league.

He was eventually exposed and cost us far too many points due to embarrassing errors.
