Giuntoli needs to learn a thing or 2 of people managelent, judging from this.
based on the hints players drop, he doesn't give a shit about the human aspect of those who are out of the project

which is fine in most of the cases. juve don't have to be human and too emphatic towards every single employee. post marotta managements were too generous, that's how alex sandro, rugani, mds, arthur, rabiot, kostic or even tek himself got those contracts

tek though, guy was an exemplary professional. even though the resolution clearly serves the club, and i don't think he comes across as salty, he would have deserved a cordial goodbye

Has it been reported somewhere how much this resolution cost us? Woj no longer being on the payroll is great, obviously, but I wonder how much we actually saved in reality. Surely not his entire 1 year wages?

Personally, I'm all for being ruthless.
But it used to mean, for example, not extending Del Piero's contract but giving him a farewell.
These days, apparently, it means pissing people off & behaving like a 2 year old.

why do you care, unless it's official? :p

iirc journos said he's getting 4m. not sure whether it's in installments
Fair point! :D
Although, in my defence, you're never going to get an official press release for these kinds of payouts.

But it does put things into perspective: I keep reading how Giuntoli significantly lowered our payroll. It was about time, so great news, obviously.
Except that it is unclear how much of those savings had to be allocated somewhere else.

Its quite an unequal comparison as Del Piero was a legend - Perhaps to 5 legends the club ever had.
Woj is just a GK who served us for years. There are way more like him than like DP.

That being said, about Woj situation:
Maybe they feared they wouldnt be able to sign him (D.G) and they wanted to make sure they have a starting GK for next season.
a farewall game? I dont think he deserves it. I mean he was good and loyal but nothing exceptional.

Back to DP situation when you think of DP you think of Juve but when I think of Woj I actually think of Arsenal before I think of Juve.

Yeah, I mostly do agree with that.

I'm more referring to the way Giuntoli seems to deal in general. The Allegri fallout, the Chiesa situation being handled terrbily, Dybala, Woj. McKennie even.

that's why we don't downplay the reports of semi-reliable journos ;) because that's all what we have...
I will continue to downplay them when more reliable information is available.

Chiesa was told from the start he isnt a part of the team (from the start means from Motta`s arrival). Dybala was indeed a terrible handling. for the wages he was asking from others we could have kept him (actually I`ll change it to SHOULD have kept him).
McK - McK situation is a bit odd to be honest.

Yeah he should definitely handle these kind of things better in the future but I`d say its more about acting different for negotiating purposes than on a human level.

So wait.

Giuntoli reaches out about a renewal.

Tek tells him he's retiring after this year.

Giuntoli then acts proactively to secure the next keeper for the next 7 years.

But Giuntoli is an asshole.

Got it.

Maybe If Marotta and especially Tici were more like this, we wouldn't have been in the situation we found ourselves in

Dybala?

So now we are blaming him for stuff he wasn't even here for.

So Tek told Giuntoli he was gonna retire after this season no matter what, so at that point Giuntoli realized he couldn’t renew Tek and spread his contract out. So he then went and got a keeper he wouldn’t have been able to get next summer and sped up the process. Good work, did his job. We have a sports director with some foresight.

pretty much lol

i didn't get why agresti said that our mercato was blocked by the di gregorio purchase. a loan worth of a few mills didn't block anything. in fact it freed up a few bucks in next season's budget. and of course the goalie question is closed for the next couple of years

all i missed was tek waving in the stadium before the opening round. he deserved a proper good-bye, that's all. but juventus rarely does that. i remember lippi benching, then not even benching conte for the last few rounds of his last season. same with capello and pessotto, he wasn't even in the squad for the last few rounds, just like conte a few years earlier

Because no matter what he does, some folks have made their mind up on him

Had he done the supposed 'gracious' thing of keeping him for another year, he would've been criticized for keeping a 35 year old goalie on 9M net (remember his wages were supposed to increase this season)

And a season later, Giuntoli would've been criticized for passing on a cheap, reasonable deal like Di Gregorio when the likes of Carnesescchi or whoever ends up costing 35-40M

You just can't win with these folks especially contrarian bald mfers like @Lion
