I feel for him. As a keeper myself sometimes I get these things too. They're scary but my doc said they are in the vast majority of cases benign and not a cause for concern. Its likely that he was understandably anxious about the match, and the adrenaline probably triggered them.

A doctor once told me receiving the ball directly to the chest so often can cause heart problems.

In Ireland we play gaelic football with a ball much more heavy than a soccer ball though.

So take it with a pinch of salt.

about Perin: '....it was good that Perin entered the pitch, because firstly he(szczesny) himself was tired, and secondly his substitute looked good in training, which he also confirmed in Thursday's match against Sporting, when he showed off excellent saves. I also knew that he would have a great save at the end of the game. (...) I congratulated him. He's a guy with a heart of gold, we get along well

about problems: '...I feel fine. I was a bit concerned but we did all the research and everything is fine. I was scared because this had never happened to me before. I was having trouble breathing and it really worried me. Of course we will get extra tests since we all had only one life...'

In Poland Lukasz Małek, a sports cardiologist said for polish news:
-"The Italians will certainly not underestimate this, because they approach such matters very seriously, rigorously. They have all tests pushed to the limit, so they will definitely examine Wojtek from head to toe."
-:First, a cardiac risk must be ruled out. Athletes are regularly tested in this respect, so club specialists will certainly read the documentation and repeat not only the ECG, but also the echocardiogram, heart rhythm test or blood tests."
-"I understand that the reason is unknown or simply not made public. We can only presume that it wasn't an injury - an injury or other impact. And to assume it wasn't just pain, since it led to a change. And that it doesn't necessarily have to be the heart, because Wojtek grabbed his chest, so it can be lungs, but also the spine or just some infection."
-"Unfortunately, accidents like this happen all the time. I do not want to say that Eriksen's case was the most media-covered, but certainly the most spectacular. It happened at a big event that the whole world was watching, and at the same time it was an extreme event because there was also a cardiac arrest on the pitch"
-"Certainly, the Eriksen case influenced the awareness of athletes. He didn't even sharpen his vigilance on a professional level so much as on an amateur level. Although at the professional level, inspections have recently become more and more meticulous. In Italy for sure. Great importance is attached to them to avoid situations such as the one with Fiorentina captain Davide Astori, which ended in tragedy a few years ago. Therefore, I believe that Wojtek will be well examined. I will definitely be following this myself, because as I say, it doesn't necessarily have to be a heart problem"
