I've always thought he's been a good GK, Arsenal leaks goals out the ass tho, everyone would have bad moments behind those sticks.

He had a couple of shocking games with Arsenal and never really got a chance after that. Keepers often don't get really good until mid-20s in terms of concentration. Having said that there are a few outstanding younger keepers around now and in the recent years. They still make or made mistakes but goalkeeping now consists of different attributes than it did even 5-10 years ago.

Then wait until Buffon retires instead of buying this piece of $#@!.
1) Szczesny is actually good. Good enough to start on most teams. Maybe not the top top, but everyone else.

2) He's insurance. Were not even sure if Buffon will actually retire. Once he makes it official in a year or whatever, you'll probably see Marotta look for the long term successor. It'll be easier to buy a top keeper then, with Buffon officially out of the picture. Szczesny can then be sold on to someone else.
