The reason we cannot accept paedophiles into society (although it is a problem that has been blown out of proportion to a ridiculous extent) is because sexual relations require consent from both parties otherwise it is rape. A child cannot consent to a sexual relationship because they do not have the mental or physical maturity to either understand or partake in the activities. If the person claims to be able to control their 'nature' then it isn't a problem untill they are deemed a threat to someone that cannot consent. There are paedophiles that live in society and never have any intention of part taking in sexual relations with a minor and no one would ever know there were such urges.

Pretty much the same reason we can't accept sociopathic murderers that kill people even though it is their nature and they don't really have control over their impulses. The basis is pretty much "which of these groups is a physical danger to society".

That is what i was trying to get at, at the end of my post. There are paedophiles that live in the closet their entire lives (failing that they join the catholic church) and we dont know a thing about it and they have any intention of touching a child. But the reason we cannot tollerate that behaviour when it does become public is for the reasons i states. There is no point in getting uppity about people that live in the closet at paedophiles, because there is absolutely nothing that can be done, all that can be done is being prepared to catch people, ie monitoring chat rooms etc. But what we see in the press is so blown out of proportion it is ridiculous.

If anyone is interested in learning about how the news works can i suggest looking up Charlie Brookers Newswipe, a lot of it is common sense but some of it i found really interesting. I posted a couple of documentaries from the program a week ago which are really interesting.

And what proof can that person give to you about being born as a homo? Funny thing is that at the time of USSR most of the people didn't even know gays or lesbians egzisted, so for people who lived there it's quite new thing so maybe that is why they are so opposed/against it. But I don't understand since most of the people who are against homosexuals don't even come to contanct with them and they don't influence their life, while they claim exact opposite, how homosexuals will make them change thier lifes...

look, it is impossible to have a natural ideology. You arent born hating gay people or believing in a god, these things come through nurture. The way you feel towards other members of the community ie physcial attraction is something that cannot be controlled. Do you believe that you could choose to be gay or do you think it would have to be something that you couldn't control?
