We did better last year with an inferior squad, scored more with a worse strike force.

We need to analyse better what our issues were this year, and it's right to say we weren't good enough, because that is plain and simple. I just don't agree with the reasons for it.
I agree, our team is definitely better this season then last season where we made it to the final 8. Tournaments require us to make less mistakes
Our team is definitely good enough to do well in the CL. We simply did not get the job done and made one too many errors in the group stage, but the talent is there for sure. We are considered one of the best teams in Europe for a reason.

Everyone always seems to be scaremongering when something goes wrong and we should not panic or risk throwing the baby out with the bathwater. We have a great team and even if we do not sign another great player in the summer we would still have a great team.

We just need to make fewer mistakes and get a bit of luck too. If teams like Milan, who are an absolute mess, can get to the knockouts and Napoli can get 12 points in a group with Dortmund and Arsenal (unlucky to be the first team with 12 points to ever be knocked out)... then why cant Juve go far?

Sure we lost to Gala in a random game but there is no way Gala are a better team, nor are Schalke, Olympiacos, Milan or Zenit. Yet they are all in the knockouts this season.

Lamela is too much for Marotta, guess the only decent and realistic option is going to be Menez :c

We should try signing players who need minutes prior the world cup as Shaqiri, Mata, Coentrao, Lamela as mentioned... but... i'm asking impossibles.

First post BTW! yeah!

Welcome. Lamela is not impossible, he hasnt impressed and in my opinion Tottenham will probably try to sell in the summer to gain as much back because they way they are currently looking it doesnt look like they will reach the cl which would imply they need money to reinforce the squad.

Buffon(Nocchi)

Litch(caceres)-----Barz(bonu)-----Chiell(ogbon)-----Criscito(peluso)

Vidal(marchisio)-----Pirlo(marrone)-----Pogba(asa)

Lamela(berardi)---------Llorente(gabbiadini)----------Jovetic(tevez)

This team is to be near perfect, it has the right balance of everything and even if we were to play all of subs we would win any lower serie a team (ie, bologna). However is not that you need to bench tevez like we do with padoin but we need a lot more of rotation between all of the players so maybe we can use a switch to a 424 and put tevez alongside llorente. i would also like to see a lot of intergration of berardi and gabbiadini, maybe you could keep pepe for 1 year and let berardi become a bit more mature but if pepe has losts it berardi should come in.

Anyways, with this team we should make top 4 in europe. no less.

They still have 100M from the Bale operation. Tottenham has never been a club that sells chep, they prefer to rot players in the bench rather than sell them.
I don't see Lamela leaving Spurs for less than 20-25 which is something Marotta doesn't like to pay. There was also a rumour that Inter was more interested in the player.

Good thing for us, is that everybody has been very quiet this transfer period, maybe they're working in something big. Hope that happens.

They spent 100m in players and soldBale for 100. They dont have that much money to spend.

Why are people talking about Jovetic? First of all, he's overrated. His numbers were never really impressive in Fiorentina and people said he's over being injury prone but clearly that is not the case judging from his time in Manchester. Just stay away, there are so many good players available for transfer this year.

Always been impressed with Jovetic's footballing skills, but he's just so damn slow. Takes forever to accelerate, and that's a huge problem. Still do not want.

he is very effective on the left wing instead of SS plus he will be quite cheap probably 15m

Yes our current team is definitely better than last year. There's some mental block that's for sure. Juve also gives too much respect to other teams if you know what I mean. Football has changed a lot during the last 10 years and it's not a good tactic to give away the ball and space to keep things tight. It's not working since players are much better technically and refs in Europe are quite soft I'd say.
In Serie A almost every team is afraid of the ball and they give it away to us and prefer to sit back deep trying to counter attack. Our back line is barely pressed. In Europe it's completely the opposite even a team like Copenhagen wants to have the ball and presses high which makes Juve struggle big time. Other than that Juve always backs off too deep when they lose the ball and barely ever press the opponent to make a mistake.

Those things need to change no matter how you look at it. Juve is no Barca and never should be but the current tactics clearly don't work in Europe as expected. There's a lot of room for improvement.
