Yeah like i've said more times than I care to remember. I never want to see the term 'wing-back' ever again

Just 2 glorified full backs taking up 2 spots that should do to players who can make a difference. Not to mention it's ridiculous that like 80% of our attacks go through our wing-backs.

How many times have we seen a Pirlo long-diagonal to Licht/Asa only for them to fail at taking their man on or fail to make even a remotely good cross

I don't blame them, that's not their playing style. I blame the system for being so dependant on two BAD attackers to make the difference in the final 3rd of the pitch.
Look at dortmund last year. the ONLY reason why they went all the way through the finals is because of they ATTACK and not their defence. juve mainly docus on defending but dortmund mainly focus on attack and that's why they WIN games and we just about win games. we need to get rid of giovinco (although he is youth product) and also quags and vucinic (although quags saves our ASS in a lot of time but we should not need an ASS-SAVER because we should be dominating the game anyways)

Yeah in the league, relying on defence is fine. But I don't care how good your defence is in Europe. In a knock-out competition against the best of the best, you aren't going to be able to keep scraping 1-0 wins. You need some actual danger upfront. Of course every now and then a freak Chelsea scenario comes along. But generally, if you're not able to take the game to the opposition then you're done for

What I hate is how in big games (Even against shit serie A teams like Milan) we pretty much go to the game with an underdog mentality. We allow teams who on paper should have no right controlling the game, to completely dictate the play.

Our defence at its very best might be amazing, but we are not going to be able to keep continuous clean sheets against the Elite European teams.

We either get a new system with some top attackers or we stagnate and continue to dominate our own league but do f*ck all in Europe. Simple as that.

I imagine a similar CL showing next season would damage our reputation beyond repair for years.

I can hear it now on sky sports news 2015. "Juventus. Italian champions. Tottenham will be quite pleased with that draw, they are surely favourites to top the group." :disagree:

Get:

Cuadrado
Trequartista.. Mata or Moura if big money were to be spent.

Sell:

Quag
Isla
Padoin
Peluso
Vucinic or Gio

Just a bunch of dead weight right there. Whatever they bring in should go towards improving the offense.

Licht - Vidal - Pogba - Cuadrado

Moura

Llorente - Tevez

Just like Napoli used to do with Hamsik behind Lavezzi and Cavani.

I'm up for selling those players but having Moura as our CAM would make us worse than we are now

He's shit at creating, might aswell play Bonucci there.
Moura shit at creating? Whenever I see him play he has been doing well.

But whatever, Mata, Hernanes or whoever QUALITY player available out there who can make a guaranteed difference.

Clearly we need at least one more player with an offensive skill set.

Running down the wing and squaring the ball is not the mark of a good TQ

I get your point and I agree with it, but this specific detail with Lucas as a TQ is just not going to happen. When I think of a CAM/TQ I think of the exact opposite of Lucas. He's quick, thrives in space and lacks a good footballing brain.

we should look at players which are not going to be too expensive (40m+) but still can make a huge diffrence in our attack.

Center Forward:

Mario Mandzukic
Luis Meriel
+ any young players which will have a good season (ie if you imagine that any of zaza/immobile/gabbiadini/scores like 15+ goals then any can join juve)

Wingers:

Ángel di María :tuttosport:
Ezequiel Lavezzi
Jérémy Ménez (freebie?):beppe:
Xherdan Shaqiri :tuttosport:
Stevan Jovetic (on left wing maybe?)
Alexis Sánchez :tuttosport:
Pedro (wants more playing time :donedeal:)
Antoine Griezmann (inform can't stop scoring goals :tuttosport:)

+ Domenico Berardi :hellyes:

Attacking Mid (the probable future):

Javier Pastore (still 24)
Hernanes
Mata (if situation at chelsea is not any better and we get him at right price)

Leftback (for 4 man defence):

Ricardo Rodríguez :tuttosport:
Aleksandar Kolarov
Adriano (kinda old)
Alex Sandro (could be a bit expensive)

We definitely need wingers and people who say we don't need their heads to be checked. Possession football without wingers? Works in Serie A well in Europe we're one of the most boring and ineffective teams this season. We can't play counter-attacking football nor possession in Europe. Besides attitude we need changes in tactics and squad to take next step.

It says we need to shift our play forward, move that possession to players more capable of creating something. It's useless when Chiellini has 70-80 passes per game and somewhat dangerous.

Exactly.

At this point I think it's good we'll miss on Nainggolan. I rate him a lot but spending so much for a rotation player would be wrong. We should just bring back Marrone after the season to be that player and invest heavily in RWF while selling a few unnecessary players. Let's not kid ourselves we won't have too much money.

So, first i enter the financial thread, where there is a graveyard moral, people thinking we need to sell Pogby or Arturo. I understood them, and tried to comford them.

Then i come here and see these raging fools listing a 100 million net spend mercato. Oh summer is gonna be fun
