Well Udinese - Juve have a great relationship.
Fiorentina and Juve hate each other, so there's absolutely no loss in beating them in a blind auction and taking their player. They don't even do business with us as it is, so I don't care.
As for what Cuadrado personally wants. Well, personally i'm just going to assume that the Columbian Udinese player isn't somehow a diehard Fiorentina fan who wants to become a club legend, rather a player who would prefer a better salary and the chance to play European football and win trophies.

I'm talking about Udinese's relationship with Fiorentina. It's fine for us to go in with a big bid for the other half, but Udinese with their model need to keep clubs happy.
Basically I wouldn't be surprised to see Fiorentina pay something like another €10m for Cuadrado. From what the player has said he doesn't seem in any hurry to move.

JuveJay has got a point. If Udinese sells their half to Juve, they fuck their relationship with Fiorentina. If they don't, they won't damage their relationship with us.

I'd rather not add players just for the sake of stuffing/padding the squad. Guys like Biabiany, Ibarbo, Cerci, Bonaventura, and Diamanti are just fillers that won't really add that element of quality to the starting 11. If we are to deviate from 3-5-2 and play a 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1/4-2-3-1 hybrid (especially in Europe) we need to upgrade the aspect of quality and unpredictability. I'd still take Nani (in spite of his inconsistency, as he is still a quality player nonetheless) if he is available for a reasonable price and wiling to take a pay-cut.
@PedroFlu Iturbe seems interesting, but let's see how he ends the season. Apparently Berardi is returning to us next season, and I'd be willing to take a chance on him as he does seem like a quality player. It's such a shame we missed out on Insigne and Hamsik (when we had the chance).

I'd rather stick to the dreaded 3-5-2 if the only other option is getting some 5th choice winger from a half-decent club or putting 2 unproven youngsters out on the wing
We're Juve, and we should have a 30M budget next season at least. Sell a few players, buy a highly rated Winger and 1 or 2 depth signings if we really have to.

Also, as for Udinese - Fiorentina relationship, well if we spend more money accquiring Cuadrado then there's nothing to complain about. And our relationship with Udinese in recent times is a hell of a lot more profitable for Udinese than Fiorentina have been.
Providing we buy the other 50% of Isla we'll have given them nearly 40 Million in recent times. I think them doing us a solid and selling us 50% of Cuadrado for a reasonable price is more than fair and reasonably.

I see what you are saying but it's about them not offending clubs and keeping those relationships open. We've found in the past that we hit a brick wall with clubs when we try to negotiate because previously we went in with big balls swinging trying to overpower others. If you have a rich owner it doesn't matter, you can buy everyone off as they all have a price, but we will be smarter in future.
Italian football is quite insular and volatile at boardroom level and it's much easier to negotiate with clubs if you are friendly. There might be a time when each team wants a player or a favour, if you close too many doors then you end up losing money on sales or buying from elsewhere.

Last season Juve had a record income, due to CL circunstances, and this mercato we hardly spent 10M. We're still paying a lot of installments for players like Pepe, Quagliarella, Licth, etc.
This season income will be almost certainly lower. We won't spend more than 10/15M in the mercato. So forget about Cuadrado.
