I understand he is out of our wage structure but Tevez is on a fairly high wage.
He is, but don't forget his transfer fee was only 10mln euros. It's a 15mln difference between that and Mata's asking price (which might easily hit 30mln mark). For that difference we can give Tevez 3 year contract even if his wages are high. It's simply a lot of money.

If say we had 30m to spend and you had these three options:

Option 1: Mata for 30m
Option 2: Di Maria for 30m
Option 3 : cerci+ a lb for 30m

Which would you choose and how would you line up the team ?
 :shifty: Why is this even an option? Cerci is an incredibly unappetizing option. Another big fish in a small pond who is destined to fail if he joins a bigger club. Enough with these filler type deals.

Fuck guys like Cerci, Biabiany, and Diamanti. Waste of space, oxygen, and money.

Di Maria is the impossible dream. Nani, Lamela, and De Bruyne all seem like plausible/realistic options, and they are far superior to the 3 aforementioned shitstains plying their trade in Serie A.

I agree but if we are able to get one of nani, lamela and de bruyne. It is only assumed we will get someone like biabiany also.

Cerci isn't World class but it's equally ridiculous to keep categorising him with players who haven't even performed half as well as him in the last 2 seasons.

If Cerci cost us something exceptionally affordable, such as Giovinco + 5M. Then we might as well snap him up in the Winter if possible. And then, he either does well enough to warrant us keeping him or we then buy somebody like Di Maria in the Summer because not only did Cerci barely dip into our transfer budget, we can also sell a few players to help finance the purchase of Di Maria.

Giovinco cost us 20m. If we would trade for Cerci , I would either do swap for swap or swap and add a youth player. Nothing more. Way too much for a player who has had a good season

Well if that worked then so be it, the way I am looking at it is Giovinco is offering us next to nothing so no matter what we won't miss him.

I mean ffs we can't event start Giovinco in Serie A games because teams just park the bus on us and his (lack of) physicality makes him useless. So the realistic worst case scenario is we have replaced Giovinco with somebody slightly more useful. But then there's also the chance that Cerci actually proves himself useful to us and we got him at the expense of a dead weight player.

Sure if only we got rid of Giovinco but I'm not in favor of spending money on a player like Cerci. Unless we got a wc player along with him.

Pogba for Di Maria + 10m Would you do it?

Nah, Di Maria isn't even a starter anymore and he's clearly unhappy plus Madrid don't need him at all.

Pogba on the other hand, has possibly 15 years of playing time left, he's improving all the time and both he and Juve are happy.

I would only accept a ridiculous cash offer for Pogba. And if PSG are serious, that's what we will get.
