So our squad at the start of the season will look something like this:

Gk: Buffon, Storari, Rubinho
RB: Lichtsteiner, Isla,Romulo?
CB: Barzagli, Chiellini, Bonucci, Caceres ,Ogbonna, Nastasic?
LB: Evra, Asamoah
CM: Vidal, Marchisio, Pirlo, Pogba, Asamoah, Marrone,Pereyra?, Rabiot?
Wingers: Coman, Iturbe, Pereyra?, Giovinco, Pepe
Forwards: Tevez, Llorente, Morata, Giovinco

The ones I underlined are the ones I think we will sell.

I doubt we will get Nastasic given we have 4 centerbacks unless we were to sell Bonucci, as I believe Ogbonna has more to offer than Bonucci.

I still think we would need another winger even if we got Pereyra, unless Conte plans on using Coman there.
really, why to have 6 CBs and only 2 classic wingers.
We don't need another CB except if we sell Ogbonna who is good for depth.

He looks like a douche but makes less mistakes than BonBon. Still he makes some. :D
Believe me, he makes so many mistakes. Really more than Bonucci, but he is really speed for CB.
As i have see him against big and against really small teams when we talk about mistakes we talk about Manolas.

I would also like to see Giovinco as a LWer is a 4-3-3. There is no doubt that he is talented, but he gets massacred in the middle of the field. He has performed before at Parma, so he definitely can be more of a factor than he currently is. If he flops after being given a real shot, his transfer value remains the same, and you stop playing him. If he excels, then you have 2 options. You either sell him for a nice profit, or you play him at that position. To me though, its a no brainer given his skillset and height that he is best suited as an attacker in a 4-3-3.

I wonder how much is confidence too. I was watching some of his videos from Parma, and be the end of the year he is player with a lot more swagger after netting 15. He started attempting screamers, and some of the goals were gorgeous. His goals from the beginning of the season were more messy. Some players are more temperamental than others, and I get the impression Giovinco is one of those.
A sensible and intelligent post from a new guy who is doing good to the forums!! See! :D

Gio receive so much hate in this forum for all the wrong reasons. He did this and that but the truth is that from Ranieri to Conte, we have greatly misused him. Like you said, at this point what we should do is to play him as a winger to try to see what he can finally be able to do....and to at the very least... increase his value for a future sale. Thats a no brainer.

About our mercatos and the penny pinching....
What really really irks me... is that we are practically working as scouters for other rich teams. Teams from the EPL are like "hey guys, lets wait for juventus to make a move for their target, then we go in and outbid them".
IMO, we are doing a fantastic work looking for the right guys to us.... but sdly once we start bidding or negotiating for them,.....other vultures come and take the prey from our mouth.

IMO selling on of ogbonna or bonucci is needed if the club having any plans for rugani in the future ( if he prove somthing next season)

yet somehow i saw many examples of players reaching a very good form when they age ( barzagli :shifty: )

We should hold on to Bonucci until we know more about Rugani and get a good look at him

Unless somebody offers us a good chunk of cash, then by all means get him out.

Atm he's sadly our 3rd best CB, with Barzagli out for a while and Chiellini banned for a couple of games, we can't start the season with an unknown defence. We might end up slipping up in the first few games and playing catch up for a few months. Meaning Conte plays it safe and plays the likes of Vidal in every damn game, leaving us exhausted in CL games.

That's one domino effect i'd rather avoid.

It seems like very suddenly we have "revolutionized" the squad.

Imagine next year's attack could very easily consist of: Tevez, Llorente, Morata, Iturbe, Berardi, Coman, Giovinco, Gabbiadini.

If Evra's signing signals the return of Asamoah to CM then our CMs could potentially be: Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, Asamoah, Pirlo, Marrone, Pereyra/Romulo.

Those 2 units are absolutely stacked. I expect us to then focus on the defence.

For shits and giggles:

Morata
Iturbe-Coman-Berardi

Best U21/22 attack in Europe. :tuttosport:

Sturaro might be added to that midfield, too. Unless there's a positive loan situation, or he's sold, but for what we paid you gotta figure he's in the plans.

I really thought we'd go for more established players this mercato, as the window for quite a few of our better players is really only another 2-3 years. It's definitely something of a revolution! Interesting times, very excited to see how these youngsters develop.
