This is a SMART mercato, we dont need a big spending mercato because we already have a great team, what we need is a good bench that can provide different options during the season.
Let me tell you why all of our signings so far have been smart.
Evra: He does not only give us the opportunity to change to a back four defense with a solid lb but also enables Asamoah to be used as an alternative for the cm if needed. Besides who can do better as an role model for Asamoah to become a great lb and only for 2m.
Iturbe: Finally the quick, skilled, paceful winger we've been asking who already had a great season last season with a recently promoted team at 20 yr old, c'mon he even made Luca Toni had an amazing season. For todays mercato paying 25m + 2m in bonuses is a fair price, I still cant believe some of you thought we would get Sanchez for 25m after he scored 21 goals and gave 11 assists it was obvious that Barca were going to wait for the WC to make his price raise. If you dont remember, before Sanchez last season at Udinese, when he was 22, he was considered a flop cuz he wasn't even half the player Iturbe is at his 20.
Morata: I think scoring 8 goals in 23 games coming off the bench is a good stadistic considering he plays for RM whose opponents usually play extremely defensivly. I've seen him play in many games and he surely is versatile as he can play on the center or at the left wing and with a bit more confidence he could fulfill his whole potential.
As I said unless we sell Pogba or Vidal we dont need a big spending mercato just the few players to make our bench more effective.

I think once the Iturbe, Evra, and Morata deals are finalized our mercato is pretty much done. The only things left would be to see if we manage to sign Rabiot and I cannot see Marrone staying with us this season - he will be loaned out or sold for sure.

Romulo looks like an interesting deal. Although, he would be a right back in a 433 no? We already have Lichsteiner and Caceres in those positions. If anything despite the Evra sigining we need an inexpensive and decent back up left back.

So last time I posted this people pointed out a few things that should be revised, so I altered them. Specifically, I fixed the issue with the gross/net wage discrepancy between England and Italy, and also revised the transfer fees/wages to the most current figures I could find. I didn't include bonuses for any players. Of course many of these numbers aren't confirmed officially and reported by sources like Daily Mail/Tuttosport/Gazzetta/Metro or whichever other agencies report salaries and transfer fees when "officially" they haven't been disclosed or they are just rumours. That being said I tried to be conservative and pick the higher ones.

I also beefed it up a bit. Let me know if anyone thinks certain numbers should be altered/revised.

So far it looks like this:

Buffon
Lichtsteiner-Barzagli-Chiellini-Evra
Vidal-Pirlo/Marchisio-Pogba
Iturbe-Llorente/Morata-Tevez

Not bad, but that defense worries me, out back four is getting really old. Hopefully Rugani will have a stellar season with Empoli.
I agree. Barza-Chiellini-Bonucci-Ogbonna - pick any pair of them look too slow for a 4men defense... But it could work out. Who knows.

Romulo would be used as an alternative to 352. I'm sure Conte won't drop it forever. He'll keep using both schemes.

Also I can see Asamoah spending time playing as a backup LB and also as a rotation CM/DM.

Milan made Rami pay 500K to cover the difference between Milan's offered price and what Valencia wanted.

LOL!

And some thought Milan can afford Iturbe. Please.

Ogbonna is possibly the fastest player on the team. Barzagli and Chiellini have adequate speed. Bonucci is like a new born deer with a leg missing.

But you don't need top speed to be a good CB. Especially nowadays where CBs are rarely exposed due to a heightened focus on team defence. I would assume Conte's 4-3-3 would put a huge emphasis on defending as a unit which is the most important part in taking away huge gaps in your positions that can find CBs forced into awkward positions. For instance, Brazil vs. Germany with the CBs constantly having to step out of line with no cover anywhere to be found (and obviously Luiz being a mental patient).

asa said he hates playing lb in a back 4. I think he'll boost the width of the midfield next season.

Do you remember one time, I think it was in 2004, and we were playing FIFA online on our PS2, and I had to go to the bathroom, and when I came back, you had scored an own goal because you were trying to do some tricks :howler:
I do. But I also think that was on purpose because it was like 4-0. :D

You really think Ogbonna is that fast? Asamoah seems faster than him.

I agree to a point about the CB's. Godin had a great season and he's not fast at all. But if you get exposed you can't have a present day Ferrara sitting back there.

Boost the width? He's already been playing LWB.

By boosting the width you mean sitting on the bench. :howler:

Depends on the distance. If it's a full field sprint I would be scared to bet against Ogbonna. Half the field, maybe Asamoah can take him. 2 yard micro sprint through smurf land, Giovinco wins that.

My new sig, thanks for providing gems :D
Thank Bonucci. :howler:

The figure I saw was 1.5 million euro per year. According to people here, that's net. I grossed it up using the tax rate in the chart.

Obviously none of these figures are official, but I've been taking the best figures I can find.

Knowing Marotta's financial engineering I'm surprised he hasn't tried to compensate players with Juventus shares. I totally wouldn't put it past him to target the players who have their parents/sibling as agents and hope that they don't factor in share dilution.

Not serious of course...
