third best CB, and Barzagli is getting older.

I'd also like to remind that at the same age, Barzagli was pulling these concentration fuckups at Palermo, and aging removed it out of his play, making him the beast he is today.
I think you would have sayd exactly the same of Barzagli in his last year at palermo, or at Montero, who had an equally big chance to losing it and get a random red card
Let's compare Barzagli and Montero, players who always knew how to defend but had consistency problems with Bonucci, who isn't supposed to be a defender, and that's coming from one of his biggest fans. If we're looking to improve, we should drop the 3-5-2, hence drop Bonucci as well. We know better than to field him in a 2 CB formation.

The cold hard truth is that defenders are shit these days, and a bonucci who isnt brainfarting during the game, is one of the best covering defenders out there.

If you hate that true statement, feel free to join my agony of the absolute lack of good defenders this generation
I love how you always have to add "covering" before praising any sort of defending he does.

How's everyone rating Roberto Pereyra? I've not taken notice of him when we played Udinese and there aren't many clips of him on Youtube..

He is a left winger, right?

We need to be realistic.. A player like Alexis Sanchez won't come.. I think we should be happy if someone like Nasri or Nani will come.. Not because Juve isn't a big club but the money remains a prob.

Nani/Nasri, Menez for free, Shaqiri/Iturbe in = max 30 million <-> 50 % Immobile, Vucinic, Pepe, & Giovinco/Quagliarella out max 25 million

We only need one switch and that is a leftback. And maybe Scuffet for the future.

Because he has no competition whatsoever. I wouldn't say Ogbonna is much behind him at all, especially if we're talking about 4 man defense.
Bonucci played a lot of times in a 4man defense before and he was just fine. someone mentined Luiz. thats a good example of how a "bad defender" can work in a 4 man defense. a lot of teams use 2 CBs, in which one is a "real defender" and the other a ball playing CB. this is because most teams play wih one striker so there is no big need for 2 pure CBs. it is also important to have one of these ball playing CBs when the opponent presses and you need to play the ball away from your own box. here are some examples:

Dortmund: Hummels-Subotic
Chelsea (before Mourinho): Luiz-Terry
Bayern: Dante (Badstuber)-Boateng
Barcelona: Pique-Puyol

you can see here very well that one CB is a playmaker and the other is your typical CB. im not saying Bonucci should be a starter in a back 4, but that he clearly can play there...

Juventus are reportedly going all in on PSG and Italy midfielder Marco Verratti for next season.

According to Tuttosport, the Bianconeri are prepared to offer €20m for the 21-year-old who is widely seen as the heir to Andrea Pirlo.

This certainly isn’t the first time that Juve have been linked with Verratti, as they were close to signing him in July 2012 before he opted for Paris.

Verratti has never actually played in Serie A, as he left Pescara after they secured promotion from Serie B, where his teammates were Lorenzo Insigne and Ciro Immobile.

He has been a regular in Ligue 1 and the Champions League, but picks up a few too many cards.

The Tuttosport front page story insists there is an important development, as Juventus are no longer ready to include Paul Pogba in any exchange deal for the Italian.

We need brains in our squad and he surely has that. I'd welcome him, although that transfer is very unlikely to happen, especially if Pirlo signs a long term contract, which he will.

We need a fifth CM anyways, I'd be willing to settle for less, but Veratti would be awesome.

Is it actually sure that Pirlo will stay next season?

I would assume he will be renewing because he even said it himself.

In my opinion we need another midfielder like Vidal, a strong tackler and has alot of energy. We should also bring back Marrone to play as a vice pirlo, and buy pereyra to cover a variety of positions.
