So Udinese should buy Fiorentina's half for, lets say, 15M... then we buy the complete player for 20M + Isla's half... they would get a new player AND 5M for half a player they couldn't field...

More likely the former than the latter. Udinese will have an agreement in place with Fiorentina, but I doubt it'll be about price. If Fiorentina can't afford it then they can't expect Udinese to sell him to them for cheaper. Then the door opens, but I think Udinese will turn it into an auction unless they have some of our players in mind.

I cant recall a right sided fullback, that could cover his entire flank so impressive, and made it look easy. Coupled with brazilian flair and dribbeling, strenght, pace, and typically impossible to get past in 1v1, but pretty good in getting past players on technique, strenght and pace himself...

Cafu was perfection. I dont think i've seen a better RB.

I mean sure, the elderly people will remind us that there was Carlos Alberto, but thats 5 decades ago. Cafu played in the godly 90ties.

Thuram was great as well. Rock solid in defense and he could provide that something extra in the final third. Not Cafu's class, but comes close. Licht, with all due respect for the guy, can't hold a candle to either.

i think everyone is focusing to much on the "Fiorentina hates us" thing, and thats mostly because of the Jovetic deal that failed. i mean, sure they dont like us, but they would sell even to us if we offer what they want (Melo). they wanted close to 30M for Jovetic and we offered what? half Marrone, Quag and 12M? they are not stupid. if we offer what they want for a player im sure they would sell even to us...
