His European scoring record is actually pretty good, simply because he is a player who enjoys playing in that little bit of extra space (mostly counter attacking) that you find in KO European games. But his overall record for Chelsea is below average, and his league record is absolutely abysmal - 19 goals in 105 games.

If Matri (31 goals in last 95 league games) or Osvaldo (50 goals in last 119 league games) had those figures we'd be rolling around laughing. I think Torres could find the lack of space in Serie A even more problematic than the Premier League, although obviously the overall player standard is lower.

For Torres the best thing would be to go back to Spain. Moving to Chelsea was a big career mistake for him if you ask me. I like Torres, but that's based on more or less nothing except that I've always liked him. From what little I've seen of him in the last couple of years he does seem to be a good team player, which seems to be something Conte values highly in a CF. Those numbers are really shocking, though. As you say he would have even less space in Italy and that could work against him and certainly when playing for Juventus.

Ciro would be a major transfer to me
Given the quality of all of our past youth squad prospects -- where its absolute very best has given us Marchisio and Giovinco -- I'm surprised at this insatiable urge for magical thinking when it comes to any of our more recent youth products, expecting some kind of Marco van Basten to suddenly materialize because we've co-owned a kid who was done well at a minnow club.

He was excellent in Pescara, had a wonderful season, before that he was one of our hottest prospects, then he stagnated in Genoa, but Genoa last year were terribly managed and in the right surrounding he's found his cue again. We can say now that he's an established player and not a youngster anymore. Btw I don't think that many see him as a next great, but more as a 3rd or 4th option. Better Immobile than Osvaldo imho and he'll be cheaper.

I dunt think Ciro has Conte's trust and i doubt he can play next to Tevez. We either keep him in Torino or sell him off to Dortmund if the rumors is true.

The Chelsea story doing the rounds is basically that they'll have to sell before they buy, on Abramovich's orders. Hazard has even been included in that, as well as Oscar, plus all the strikers (Eto'o, Ba, Torres), as well as Lukaku, and potentially Courtois.

At this point it seems like a ridiculous story, but you could certainly see all the strikers plus Lukaku being sold to make way for 2-3 quality ones. It's debatable if we have a chance at Oscar, because if Chelsea are looking for cash to spend we are way behind potential other clubs.
I would swipe him up in a heartbeat.

If we buy Torres we're well on our way to being AC Milan 2.0

Wouldn't take him for free. Imagine Torres in a 352 with zero creativity in the final 3rd. Would make Matri look like Fat Ronaldo
How many players of past glory that came here have failed ?
Cause if i recall correctly, Barzagli, Pirlo and Tevez have set juve on fire.
IF our great coach and manager think that they can see Torrez return to his good performances, then they'll get him and he will

Also, "fat" ronaldo, was the best striker in the world for his entire career, despite his thyroid gland slowly shutting down

Think the big thing for next season is that we add real quality to the squad so we can compete for the Champions League, with an explosive winger I think being the priority because something needs to change in Europe as we lacked the intensity we usually play with week-in, week-out in Serie A, so will probably have to go for a 4-3-3 formation for Europe.

I have no idea which winger we can get because I don't think the likes of Cerci, whilst a good player is not good enough for the Champions League.

Was hoping Di Maria when Bale first signed for Real Madrid but he's managed to get into that team and play amazing so no chance.

With that in mind I think (so far):

Sell Padoin, Buy Candreva

Sell Giovinco, Quagliarella, return Osvaldo, get Mandzukic, Immobile and Menez

Bring back Marrone use as cover for Bonucci and midfield

Try for Lamela or an alternative realistic target of similar quality

Zach you do realise me saying Torres makes Matri look like Ronaldo was insulting Torres NOT Ronaldo, right?

Tevez was scoring for fun, he fell out with the coach

Barzagli was a starting CB in a title winning team

Pirlo was discarded because Allegri didn't want to use a DLP at the time

Torres has had plenty of starts in a quality team and consistently screwed up. He has been abysmal for so, so long. Maybe people are forgetting we're Juventus not Fulham and we shouldn't be settling for players who have proven time and time again they're no longer even good

1 goal per 5 games playing for a top 3 team in the BPL

Bringing him to Italy in a slow team that lacks creativity is insanity.

Maybe, but i remember how conte turned a bunch of written off players into warriors that clutched an unbeaten scudetto.

The problem with torres is so much pressure, and not the right coach. Seems like mourinho isnt really trying eighter, and the fans consider him a failure.

IF conte believes in a player, that player has allways succeeded. If he thinks he can get torrez on the rails, he will.
Thing is, does he think this ?
Cause iirc juve staff did not mention torres so far ?
