While teams like Madrid and Barca are busy buying WC players (sometimes more than one per mercato in Madrid's case) such as Suarez, James, and Kroos we (and the rest of Serie A for that matter) are looking for bargains. True bottom dwellers. Such a sad state Serie A is in :sigh:

how about this “Antonio resigned because he no longer had the energy to continue, not because of any disagreements with the directors,” Nedved.

He was not tired of mgmt, maybe because of sleep deprivation. If I would not get my 7h beautysleep everyday, I would also quit my job.

Any chance of getting Kagawa?

He's 26, the typical intelligent AM we need... how much does he make at United? Do u think Van Gaal would let him go?

Also, IF Vidal pushes for United and states he really wants to leave - would you accept a bid of 40M + Kagawa?

Or maybe 30M + Kagawa and Nani?

My point is we don't know, so why assume something and build all our theories on that? I'm not saying it's not the case, but for you to be so sure about it and build your arguments about our transfer strategy on it is wrong imo
The thing is we do know. Conte complained about money a lot didn't he? All that talk like 'You can't go to a 100 euro restaurant while having 10 e in the pocket". At the end of last season he refused to make a promise he would stay because he thought (and actually said it) that this squad has reached its maximum level and the 102 points scudetto won't be beaten for years. He realized it would be very hard to motivate the players with another strong run in Serie A after such a season, especially considering the fact Serie A title wasn't that exciting even to himself anymore. It's a normal thing to lose hunger after such and so many successful campaigns. CL was always his obsession but he couldn't see himself winning it with this team without strengthening it (there was a quote like "do you think this Juve can win CL" He responded "Not a chance" or something like that). For Conte there was simply nothing to win anymore so he decided to leave.

My point was: If we had 30m for a transfer fee to spend, to land Isco wanted by so many here - Conte would still be here IMO. Since he's not here and we're not really connected to players like Isco and players of his class it's obvious we don't have such money to spend which proves my point this transfer is unrealistic. It could happen next year: new TV and Adidas deals, as well as a new shirt sponsor could fetch us enough money to actually compete for such a classy player like Isco. This season it's impossible.

I'm not sure he would. Other exaplanations seem plausible aswell, and i wouldn't be the judge, since there would be a large probability for my conclusion to be wrong. We could assume that we have no money at all, and then just shut the transfer section down, or only keep a who will we loan next-thread going, but i don't think we're in that bad of a state, though it seems very plausible to be skeptical about us having 25-30 million for a single player on top of what we already got

Borini links?

FI:
Juventus target Liverpool hitman Fabio Borini or Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku after the Alvaro Morata injury.

The Bianconeri had an unlucky start to Morata’s spell in Turin, as in his first training session he sprained his knee with ligament damage, meaning six weeks on the sidelines.

According to CalcioNews24, general manager Beppe Marotta is already looking for a short-term replacement who can arrive on loan.

The primary target is Borini, who seems not to have much room at Liverpool and is due to snub a permanent transfer to Sunderland worth £14m.

However, it would be tricky considering Liverpool are tired of loaning the ex-Roma striker out and wanted to cash in.

Another alternative for Juventus is 21-year-old Belgium international Lukaku, whose rapport with Jose Mourinho at Chelsea is problematic.

He too seemed to be on the verge of joining Everton, but the promise of Champions League football could change Lukaku’s mind.
