It is imperative to make some sales first and get rid of the deadwood, we have expanded our squad far too wide, with so many useless players, we must stop paying so many useless wages that offer nothing in return, this year we must buy less players than we sell.
We have a full squad, what we need is quality and no depth, so we should avoid all players that cannot offer starter quality perspectives.
Such a slot is the LB, esp if we are looking to change our formation and use a four man defence.
IT is a priority to see if we can find one, because this will decide what kind of formation we will use and its after this strategical decision that we will plan our strategy plan.
One of Quaq and Vucinic must be sold, both of them if we get Morata on loan. Lets see if MArotta can pull this, so far he has been pathetic at selling attempts.

@Dule90 any news on Pantic? is it a "done deal" already thats just waiting to be finalized? any other teams interested that may try to hijack our deal?
Nothing new so far.

But I know how Partizan deals. And I know how Marotta deals. Even if the news gets denied IMO there are huge chances we're going to see him wearing our jersey because we're interested for sure. So even if they deny it eventually don't stress about it. It was the same for Jovetic, Markovic and Mitrovic.

What I do know is that he wouldn't come before he's 18, so the earliest stage we'd finalize the deal is January.

The one who we bought for 18mil, made him a champion and then we have sold him out for 11mil?
Yes thats included in the pathetic attempts to sell our players, among with all the Amauris and such... also the players we release after paying their contract untill it expires (ex Iaquinta)...
First of all Matri: We bought him at a time, where we needed a striker really bad and didn't have any chance of signing the players we can today. His value was not nearly around that when we had to sell him, he really had a bad last season for us. We got more than what he was valued at in the books, i can't blame Marotta for that sale...

As for Iaquinta and Martinez, how would you sell players on huge salaries, who were injured more than not? He didn't bring them in, and yes, it was a hard time getting rid of guys like these, but at least he loaned most of them out, so we almost got our costs covered, and that's better than nothing. Besides, i think this mercato has started of pretty well from a selling perspective. Seems like we are getting rid of what we have to get rid of. Seems like we are replacing the reserves with young prospects with potential, and lower salaries.

We can agree that those last few years could have been better as far as selling, but to say Marotta has been pathetic is, in my opinion, way beyond sense...

Secco gave Iaquinta a contract so high (€3m p/a) that he effectively put himself into semi-retirement for the last year of it.

The joy of context.

@Mark how's things with Cuadrado? Are Barcelona still in for him? How are his wages compared to Iturbe? And since we are headed close to the 30mil price range, why don't we gun for a proven Cuadrado instead of Iturbe?
