CBs are only as good as the team in front of them nowadays. The team has to defend as a complete unit to take pressure off the CBs since today's referees are much more strict, attackers look for any chance to go to ground and are generally quicker and more skilled than ever. A 1 on 1 is a very tough position for a CB nowadays.

A 4 man backline that features a partnership of Barzagli and Chiellini is more than good enough to compete. In fact, it would be one of the better partnerships in the world.

Bayern dominated with Dante and Boateng. Man City won the EPL with Kompany and a rotation of imbeciles beside him. Atl. Madrid has arguably the best defense in the world with Godin and Miranda (who are actually both good players but not as good as ours imo).

The last thing we need to worry about are CBs if we are going away from the 3-5-2. We need a team infront that all attack and defend at a high speed. Players like Sanchez, Di Maria, Cuadrado, Pedro, even Nani can at least run and pressure opponents.

Actually, its something else

Modern defenders arent good anymore. What is worse, is that with this decade of "YOU MUST PLAY OFFENSIVE AND FLAIR AND FANCY AND FLOWERS AND PASSING AND POSSSSESSSSION AND DIVE LIKE BUSQUETS", that not a single team seemed to be able to defend as a unit anymore

Now that we had examples of 2010 inter and 2013 bayeren doing that, people go wild over something that was extremely normal 2 decades and further ago.

If we come to manchester city, Kompany is excellent, and thats enough. EPL is won by the team with the best performing forwards. When city comes in europe, they get shafted with cock.

Chiellini - Barzagli is the best defensive duo in the game, if Barzagli gets back to his pre injury form, and chiellini hits a decent form aswel

Referees siding with attackers and blowing the whistle at the first sign of minimal contact doesn't help at all.

Pricks like Neymar can throw themselves onto the floor and try to earn a BS penalty 3 times per game. If they get caught a couple of times it's a warning or a Yellow

If he fools the reff it's a Pen. If the defender does make contact it's a pen and maybe a red

No wonder defenders have declined, the tackling side of the game is dying and attackers have free reign to

I was about to say this, just because Cuadrado started out lower position (RB) people assume he is hardworking or remotely decent defensively, he is not. While Sanchez is Tevez lite in what an insane pressurring runner he is. Not just aggressive pressuring, but he simply NEVER stops running in general, allways active off the ball (this dude making runs for Pirlo passes would be insane):

Its fairly insulting to want Cuadrado over him in ANY aspect of the game.
    The music

Where is that old Gio clip with music like this?

Would you guys "accept" Evra on a free and another Osvaldo loan if it meant we'd get Cuadrado/Sanchez + Nani + other solid backups?

I dont care who the fringe/backup players are if you get your top choice wingers, especially if its Sanchez (wouldnt sacrifice shit for likes of Nani).

I don't want Osvaldo :sigh: but if we get Sánchez and Nani, and by solid backups you mean Candreva/Pereyra, Paletta/Ranocchia and Gabbiadini(?); I think it's ok. I guess we wouldn't be getting Kolarov/Lulic since we got Evra, right?

Pedro better then Sanchez ?

Seriously, Pedro is a part why their tiki taki is failing. wide players with no goalscoring threat. Sanchez provides that.

For juventus, Sanchez is so obviously better, that Pedro can fuck of in a diving contest
Sorry but how can Pedro be the reason for their failure if he isn't even getting playing time?

That said, I'd also prefer Sanchez, he has already proven himself in SerieA.
