And I don't think that makes sense to Conte either. He knows he has a talented squad, honestly I think we have a lot of quality in this team and we really underachieved this season in the CL.

I think even if the team stayed the same from this season to the next, without an upgrade in the starting XI we'd do much better next time around.
I think you're wrong. It would end up as failure once again imo. In CL you can't afford to drop back deep and give away space and ball so easily or you'll get punished. Those are the basic errors this Juve have made and I think Conte realizes that. From there goes the idea of changing to a different formation (433 being the most likely one). This team struggles so much when pressed and in CL it's nothing new. Even shitty teams like Gala and both Denmark outsiders do it.

Of course it's not the only reason for the failure but those are basics actually. The team cracks under pressure and can't get away from it because the buildup play is narrow and slow.

In Serie A every tactics will work for us but don't get fooled by those.

Conte's always said that he like the team to play as collective and there's little space between the lines. we defend in numbers, and attack in numbers. we didn't struggle against Gala and Copenhagen. poor finishing and lack of concentration is what let us down.

I actually agree with that when we face a team with decent enough midfield and firepower on the wings. they usually are able to keep us pinned back and break us down.
our sukiness in counters don't help either. last season against Bayern with Quag and Matri, was just disaster waiting to happen. everyone knew that. but watching us playing in completely different format against Madrid showed that Conte has something in mind but we are not gonna change our play against every side that mostly attack through their wings.

Out: PDC, Motta, Peluso, Quags, Vucinic, Giovinco, Osvaldo, Padoin, Isla

In: Murru, Santon, Guarin, Gabbiadini, Berardi, Cerci, one younger player for midfield (possibly Rossi or Bouy) and a strong winger like Cuadrado, Menez or someone like that.

It can be done for chep, and I would enjoy watching that squad.

It's all good and it works (in Serie A) but with the 352 there's one huge downside - the moment you start defending is not where it should have been in the first place. With the 352 there's too many defensive players and whole team basically falls back leaving too much space (mainly because there's only one player on each wing). In formations like 4231/442/433 you actually start to defend more higher up the pitch which is what we lack currently. This is very important in CL. Many don't see that because it's normal these days but this Juve don't have it. Tevez and Llorente alone can't defend effectively if not backed up by the others.

Agreed.

There's huge difference in between our success in Serie A and CL. I think it's the quality of the players not the formation that makes this side so successful in Italy.

Im totally for candreva (for a low price or other player(s) included) he could give us great depth on more positions (CM, AM, both wings and probably wingbacks :boh:).

Lazio will ask for the moon so get Gabbia or Berardi back for the right and dish out the cash for the left.

looks lie an all-italian mercato to me. Cerci, Candreva, Ranocchia, Santon (maybe) + Nani. I'm not happy and neither dissapointed. the important thing is that all key players stay.
