Bastos would be great for the left wing-back. We were after him 2-3 years ago but when Conte came he put the brakes on the transfer. If I recall correctly it was something about Bastos not being offensive enough for Conte's 424 but for the wing-back he's perfect in my opinion.

I used to think that too but Bastos is cack, scored some cool goals but there must be a reason why Lyon gave him on loan to Schalke and Schalke didnt even take the option to sign him.

Why would Conte want want Ibarbo or Biabiany type of players/wingers.and moreover with rumors that he wants BOTH one of Kolarov/Zuniga for the left, and one of Ibarbo/Biabiany for the right.

2 possibilities:

1.Plans to try a 4-3-3 formation with something like:

Buffon
Licht/Caceres-Barza/Bonucci-Chiello/Ogbonna-Kolarov/Zuniga
--Vidal--Pirlo/Pogba--Asa/Marchi
---Ibarbo/Pepe--Llorente/Matri--Tevez/Vuc​

2.The winger is only for backup and rotation forward...and Kolarov/Zuniga to rotate with Asa on the left.
