and what exactly does osvaldo have that Drogba doesn't? old or not he has a billion times more talent and skill than osvaldo ever had and ever will. Did you see him against madrid? he was a difference maker upfront, i'm not saying we may have necessarily beaten bayern with Drogba but sure as hell would have done a better job of it than the strikers we played against them. There is no way Osvaldo would have done $#@! against them either.

if you think Drogba is overrated, then $#@! knows why you are the one overrated osvaldo
There there, you said it. Right move not to pay millions & millions for NOT advancing any further in the CL. Scudetto is ours anyway.

What Osvaldo has more than Drogba ? Easy, a few years left. And if you don't think Osvaldo is an upgrade over Quags, you should really start watching soccer instead of rugby.

We need to get rid of Matri, Giovinco, Anelka, Bendtner, and De ceglie. The sales of Gio, Matri and De ceglie could raise close to ~25 millions, plus the ~50 millions we spend every summer should be sufficient to add some important and much needed pieces to be competitive in Europe. I would spend the whole sum on Suarez ~45 mil, Isco ~25 mil and a back up defender.

Not so sure about Sanchez as our 'top striker' but in terms of playing style he's the perfect fit. Able to play an SS in 3-5-2, can combine in narrow spaces, counter attack with his speed and easily beat a man. He can also fill in the RW in a 4-3-3 which hands us a much needed flexibilty to break down opponents.

25 mil is a lot of money though. Maybe Marotta can penny pinch for a small discount :p

Sanchez for 20m would be a steal the guy is awesome. He's an upgrade over Pepe for 4-3-3 and he could play as SS in 3-5-2 more successfully than Giovinco that's for sure. He actually can play with his back to the goal while Giovinco is a typical attacking winger.

I proposed Remy some time ago but nobody backed this idea up :p

We're just bad selling players. There's simply no way that will happen.

Sanchez, Llorente and Kolarov are realistic target and would be enough for next season.

4-3-3

Buffon (Leali/Storari)

Lichtsteiner (Caceres/Isla) - Barzagli (Bonucci/Caceres) - Chiellini (Bonucci/Peluso) - Kolarov (Peluso/Asamoah)

Vidal (Padoin/Isla) - Pirlo/Pogba (Marrone) - Marchisio (Asamoah/Marrone)

Sanchez(Pepe/Giovinco) - Llorente (Matri/Quag) - Vucinic (Giovinco/Giaccherini)

3-5-2

Buffon (Leali/Storari)

Barzagli (Bonucci/Caceres) - Bonucci (Marrone) - Chiellini (Peluso/Caceres)

Lichtsteiner (Isla/Pepe) - Vidal (Padoin/Isla) - Pirlo/Pogba (Marrone) - Marchisio (Asamoah/Giaccherini) - Kolarov (Asamoah/Peluso)

Sanchez (Vucinic/Giovinco) - Llorente (Matri/Quag)

Kolarov gets 5.5mln/season, I highly doubt he's realistic or willing to that that huge paycut to join us tbh.

I don't think we'll change our formation too.
He isn't used much at Manchester City, I think he can take a paycut to join us. A lot of players did in the past to play more football. Plus, he isn't a wanted man really, no one would match his current wages.

As for the formation, Conte was always clear that he approached the season with 3-5-2 and 4-3-3 as a backup plan. He just thinks that 4-3-3 isn't working without Pepe. Remember he talked once how 3-5-2 is more attacking than 4-3-3 and that 4-3-3 doesn't work without Pepe, IMO it indicates he already considers 4-3-3. Maybe he'd switch next season.
