Edinson Cavani has admitted that Real Madrid and Barcelona are tempting destinations, but he’s underlined his desire to win a championship with Napoli.

The Uruguayan international is one of Serie A’s most wanted players and he is available for transfer should any club offer the €63m release clause fee in his contract.

However, speaking with the Gazzetta dello Sport, he underlined his commitment to his current club.

“Real Madrid and Barcelona are two great clubs, amongst the strongest in the world, and it is obvious that they can attract,” the centre-forward noted.

“The tension rises just when you name those two sides. However, I honestly don’t know whether there is the option to join one of those.

“At the moment I have the opportunity to win the Scudetto with Napoli and I’m just concentrating on that aim.

“And I still have four years left on my contract. You never know what will happen in football, but I just work on a day by day basis to get the best.”

The 25-year-old has scored 18 League goals in 20 Serie A games so far this season.

The more I think about this, the more I realise that we will not go after any big name signing in the summer. Look at the fwd dept as things stand. We have Vucinic, Gio, Quag, Matri and Llorente, assuming Bendtner has no further part to play for us, and nor does Anelka.

We might sell one of Matri or Quag in the summer and replace them with a Belfodil/Muriel kind of player amd that will in all likelihood be our movement for the fwd line. I don't see us sell either Gio or Vucinic, which means that one of them will play SS with Llorente as a starter next season. And one will come off the bench.

This means we are probably looking at Vucinic, Gio, Matri/Quag, Llorente and Muriel/Belfodil. The only so called big name possibility we might be interested is in is JoJo, and at a pinch, Tevez or Villa with the former being the most likely to affect our interest since Matri/Quag could be used as a bargaining chip in that deal and coz he's the youngest of the trio with the least wages of the lot. And even if that happens, I just don't see how JoJo, Gio and Vucinic will coexist without getting unhappy. This is why, we'll probably go for a young gun like Muriel and close the forward line for next season. It's a bit of a shame, but I don't see too many other plausible scenarios, based on how Marrotta works.
Yep, I'd be surprised if we bought a big name upfront as well. I really would like to see Giovinco go most of all especially if we're going to go after a player like Muriel who I liken to Gio.

Get Jovetic, lose Giovinco. Quagliarella is our most versatile forward, Matri as a direct back up to Llorente, Vucinic to Jovetic. That's a well rounded group for attack as opposed to one with three SS' in it and only one real CF to back Llorente up.

Guys, Llorente is our big name for next summer....

Stupid Lucio for leaving us!
:D

I was thinking someone with his future ahead of him. Since I know we won't be spending 30m on upgrades for attack (which is the investment needed for a proven player who will make the leap in quality from Vooch) I would rather us focus on signing a good CB with his future ahead of him, for instance 20-ish mill on Howedes or something.

So Hustini, still rate Dzeko? I remember the poll for Benzema & Dzeko. Most were saying Benzema was washed up, should have got him when he was going through his rough patch at Real. Would have made this team devastating in attack.
