I like Jovetic and if we can get him I would definitely prefer him over Icardi. The problem is however that it may once again prove impossible to persuade Fiorentina to sell to us. Icardi on the other hand seems to be pure talent who not only scores 8 goals in his debut season at the age of 19 but also seems to be a complete and mature player for his age (think of Pogba). And if we cant get Jovetic, Suarez or the likes we should definitely go for Icardi even if we would be forced to overpay. Of course there is risk he may be a failure, but it's dumb to say that we should wait till he is more proven. If I remember correctly we can't get proven strikers for like 6 years now.

Why would Juve be choosing between Jovetic and Icardi?

They are completely different types of player.

Icardi wouldn't really be compatible with Llorente.

I think it would be ideal to buy both, Jovetic as a star signing and Icardi as a young talent. But I don't think we can afford it.

And I don't really buy the compatibility argument. First of all I don't know why you think they wouldn't fit tohether and second, having two quality strikers with different characteristics can never harm you. That is if Icardi turns out to be quality of course.

Compatible with Llorente not between themselves.

Both Icardi and Llorente need to be the central main man.

Neither of them are going to drop off and link the play the way a proper SS/No.10 type player would.

You say it like it's a fact but it's not. It's mere speculation. Exactly what I heard when RVP went to Man Utd. They said he wouldn't fit. Moreover, nobody really knows what Icardi needs to be or what roles on the field he can adapt to since he was born in 1993 and has played not more than 20 professional matches in his career.
