ronaldinho definitely bigger than platini
:disagree:

Ronaldinho has little competition when he won the balon d'or in 2005, he had Sheva, Gerrard and whoever else.

Platini won 3 in a row and was the biggest star when Serie A was the greatest league in the history of the sport in the mid 80s.

Ronaldinho was a great player for a while, but Platini is several notches above him.
:agree:

Vucinic would have to be replaced by a player that would fulfil similar duties on the pitch, or assume that type of responsibility. Llorente Higuain Giovinco Matri and Quag would be a bit imbalances vis a vis Llorente Tevez Matri Quag Gio, if everything else remained the same.
What about if we could land both Higuain and Tevez and our squad would resemble this? Higuain, Llorente, Tevez, Quag, Gio. That for me ticks the most boxes, you've got a prolific scorer & finisher/poacher in Higuain, a technical target man and part poacher in Llorente, Tevez would be basically a superior and more decisive equivalent to Vucinic, then we have Gio and Quags as impact players off the bench and for rotation. Gio does a good job at stretching tired teams and Quag has proved time and again that he has self-belief and can have an immediate impact when called upon, which is more than you can say for most of our attackers at present.

German newspaper TZ located in munich tells that Juventus is also going for Mario Gomez now, actually Napoli and Fiorentina were in race but now Juve is also in race for Mario Gomez. According to TZ newspaper the adviser of Gomez will travel friday to italy and consider all offers.

I also read that we're meeting up with Gomez's agent on Monday. But took it with a pinch of salt like all these other rumours.

Yes, but not if this would mean no Higuain.
Tevez is almost 30, will ask a high wage and will probably cost as much as Higuain.
Also, with Tevez's mental "health", you never know if he'd want away after 6 months and will be unhappy.

I'd prefer Higuain and then we can see if we stil have cash for Tevez.

It's always funny when we obviously want Jovetic & it's like saying to Fiorentina, if you're not gonna lower your price, we'll hijack your move for Gomez.

Geez these transfers can get real bitchy.

I think we would be able to afford one now, and if we manage to sell a few players (Matri, Gio, DC) then I think we could afford both.

Could be, but still, I'd prefer to have Higuain and then see if Tevez is do-able, not the other way round. Also because interest in Higuain is probably higher then in Tevez, he has his rep against him.

But if I am honest, I still don't believe we'll ge one of the 3 big names we are linked with.

lol me too, and I'm pretty certain we'll hear the excuse 'we can't afford any top players', meanwhile Marotta is off spending 30-40m+ on Ogbonna, Berardi, Zaza, Diamanti etc
