Maybe, we'll never know for sure, but I ain't buyin' that.

We'll see in the summer but IMO 28-30mln euro offer will get him moved instant. Viola is not in a position to refuse such an offer, because let's face it, mid-table teams don't get that much money like..ever.
Viola might well have been into the position to refuse 28m-30m offer then. First about the team's morale and the difficulty of getting an ambitious coach/better signings. Second because he could realistically be the difference between CL and EL for them. Third because they can milk 20m from him anytime in the next 3 years.

After this season and depending on how they perform things could change, but the way they are going it won't be the change our fans are hoping for. I see Manchester City going for him at the end of the season, but there should be a bunch of changes next summer...

I am curious about one thing - say Udinese doesn't even qualify for EL (I am certain they won't go to down a level)... Does that lower their asking price for the other half of Asamoah and Isla?

Willian looks like a better version of Diego, no sure how he would fit in our system.
He is more flexible, can play winger on both sides besides AMC. Even recall seeing him as regista in youth days. More iniesta type of AM then strictly in the hole type like Diego.

Class midfielder, but too expensive to be worth pursuing IMO.

I would agree with you if it was early in the summer bid (we were insisting with 15m plus players etc), but the 30m was said by Viola to come at end of Mercato, hard sell to make when he is your only attacker and don't have time to replace. Plus was a question of PR and stature by then, would undone their positive mercato if at end he was sold.

I am pretty there is a gentlemen's agreement for both Asamoah & Isla, plus their value wouldn't be affected since they don't play for them
Such agreements count little when they are not on paper. Surely we have, had and will have business in the tens of millions between the clubs through the years, but liquid assets are always the most important aspects.

We will get an Italian defender, an Italian CM and we will fight to the very last moment to secure a CF, dont expect any star, unless it is just yet another SS, or one of our prime 2 candidates.
If the deal for one of those two, is not concluded in the very first week, then they will surely not come...

Jovetic? :tuttosport:

Also, I think Isla and Awesomoah have a fixed buyout clause for the other half of their contracts. Marotta just spread it over two seasons to not have to shell out the cash all at once.

Dont have a very good feeling about this window..I feel like we'll close the market by signing a defender probably Peluso on a loan + option to buy deal..The transfer rumors i've been reading since the past few days arent giving me great signals.
