Get the Drogba in winter.
Drogba is a very short term fix. He would come with a high salary and at least 2+1 contract. Imho NO!

We have 5 strikers. Lets get the best out of them, ship some in christmas and see where we at regarding our prospects of getting a big name for the next 5+ years.
Falcao, Benzema, Higuain, Neymar, Dzeko, Lewandowski, Llorente, Lukaku... there are a lot of options if we have the cash.

PS: If we sell Matri (10-12m) and Quag(6-9m) we would have 20m cash and given that Iaquinta would be finally leaving us after long years spent serving in our accounting department we might get the 60m Falcao. Agnelli's gift..:spliff:

You didn't read Marotta's interview, did you?
As a matter of fact I did. There is one thing I've truly learned to cherish in Marotta - his ability to speak nonsense. IMHO thats a good thing - keeps the fans satisfied and our targets a bit less obvious and more surprising to the majority of fans.
But still its the 'wishlist', besides I've clearly indicated to be daydreaming... :D

Those figures can’t be supported by our game right now. The big Spanish and English clubs earn double what we do. As a result, we’ll just look for wise opportunities.
That's not true as well. They might earn more, but if we want to we'd have to spend as well. Winning/progressing in CL is a lot more money than just the prize and we've seen the 15-16 man first squad - we have to get a top striker, we know it and we know we would have to overspend on one. That is a fact. There is no way we would be a tryout grounds for youngsters and Bendtners - we've never been and I am certain we aren't hoping to be. ;)

Juventus striker Alessandro Matri has been linked with a January switch to Dynamo Kiev.

The Italian international has struggled for first team football in Turin so far this season and had been close to an exit over the summer.

According to this evening’s reports from Russia, Dynamo Kiev are showing an interest in swooping for the 28-year-old.

His current contract holds him to Juve until June 2017, but Matri has also been linked with Porto, Fiorentina, Udinese and Milan.

Dynamo Kiev are thought to be offering €13m to take Matri mid-season.

It means he wants something biiig. :tuttosport:

We should get Thiago Silva, we'd havevthe two best defenders in the world shielding the greatest GK of all times. Not to mention it would make Bilan cry. But first we need a #9

A great team is build from the back, especially for cupcompetitions, cause great backs tend to cost less points due to faults, then forwards score goals.

Thing is, our back is as overbuild as the average ebony booty, we have that shield.

Currently, it would take a significant amount of stress of the team, if we'd had a goalscoring forward, to win us league games more easy, with less efford.

I'm not saying we "must" buy a forward, any purchase that increases the team's overall goalscoring ability significantly would do, but without sacrificing our shield.

I agree with almost everything, but I feel like our D can be better. We still have LB problems, Barza got 3 more seasons in him, as much as I love BonBon he's still a liability. Hopefully he'll get better soon. Getting Thiago or Hummels wouldn't hurt. :D

As for the Coentrao rumours, we should get on that.

Our defensive record is very good for quite a while now.

Spending 25mil and 8 mil wages on a quality centreback, wont change much in the league, and is an moderate improvement in europe

Spending the same on the right forward, would make us win/draw games in the league alot more easy, resulting in fitter midfielders. in europe, the improved scoring threat + having our midfield sharp, would be quite the improvement aswel

The point of the question was to decide which player we would want if we couldn't get a striker. You saying that we should get a right forward doesn't really help...
