I like Hummels, but we've got BonBon, who's proving himself to be a good CB.

If we sign Hummels he should be played in the middle of the back three, anything else would be a waste. Would rather keep Bonucci and spend 30M on a different player than Hummels in our case.

Hummels would be an excellent signing for the centre as I'm still doubtful whether bonbon can take those brainfarts that he has consistently out of his game. Such a fine specimen otherwise but he just lapses in concentration. Hummels is only for the middle though. And not for anything more than 17-18 which is quite unrealistic anyway.

Would Llorente be able to play in the champions league if he joined us.
This is the regulation

".. a player may not play UEFA club competition matches for more than one competing club in the course of the same season. A substitute player who is not fielded is entitled to play for another club competing in the same season’s UEFA club competitions, provided that he is registered with the UEFA administration in accordance with the present Regulations."

I really enjoy watching Hummels, but he's a great footballer rather than a great defender.

He does things that looks great, but I think people would find that if they watched him with a more critical eye (like they would with one of their own players) they'd see Hummels makes an awful lot of mistakes.

Now, part of that is because BVB are not an easy side to play CB for, as the midfield doesn't give great protection and the fullbacks are very attacking, but he can be terribly casual at times, is inclined to lose concentration, isn't a good man-marker and isn't particularly mobile.

Now, he could well become a great defender as he matures and if he moves to a team, such as Juve, where it is easier to be a CB, but he wouldn't be worth what he would cost - not to Juve at this point, anyway.

As for Benatia, I like him a lot and agree with Ahmed that he would be a very good option as a Barzagli replacement.
