Matri wouldn't score 35 goals at Barca, even Ibra couldn't do it. Those fuckers are probably all relatives, so you just can't go there and play. You need to at least spread your legs before you can have any playing time.

Seems like we have a lot of people in here that used to watch Pele week in week out.

I find comparisons, where someone compares a player he watches almost every week with a player he's only seen videos of, pointless.

Saying players like Xavi, Iniesta, C.Ronaldo and Messi are not as good as players in the 90's is stupid. Zidane trumps them all, he was a legend in every sense of the word. Other than that the aforementioned players are just as good as the Rivaldo's, Baggio's and Romario's of the world.
Number one reason why I believe the players from early 2000's, late 90's (what I've seen) are much better than today's players is because of defense. The art of defending is almost a lost art nowadays, teams need to defend in large numbers (park the bus as they call it). Freaking Nesta at 37 DESTROYED the BEST player in the World and arguably one of the best of all times. Now imagine the likes of Messi\CR7, etc being up against defenders like Nesta, Canna, Thuram, etc.
Even Chiellini, Thiago Silva, Vidic, etc look bland and average compared to the great defenders from the past. Speed and athleticism are important factors but that's not what made Pirlo, Nesta or Del Piero some of the best players of all times.

IMO there's a direct correlation between the level of defending and the talents around, great defenders force strikers\players to be even greater. Until we see more of the likes of the older defenders I think the likes of CR7, Messi should never be uttered in the same breath as DP, Totti, Raul, etc.

Anti-Juve clause for Jovetic?

There are reports Fiorentina are introducing an ‘anti-Juventus’ clause into Stevan Jovetic’s new contract to bar him from moving to Turin.

The two clubs were already in talks for the Montenegro international this summer, but the Viola rejected a bid thought to be worth €25m.

The rapport between the sides has always been tense, but the situation exploded in the last days of the transfer session over Dimitar Berbatov.

Fiorentina publicly accused Juve of acting unprofessionally by intercepting a done deal with the Manchester United striker, but the Bianconeri insist they only approached him after being told Berbatov had turned down the move.

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Fiorentina are not going to let that ‘snub’ pass and will try to include a clause in Jovetic’s contract ensuring he won’t end up in Turin.

This would bar Jo-Jo from joining Juventus even if they were to pay the €40m buy-out clause.

As if we're actually gonna pay that 40m buyout. It's just silly posturing. Any bid lower than that they are welcome to reject and they don't need anything extra for that.

I hope he rejects if there is an anti Juve clause.
Now I really hope we get him just to annoy Fiorentina (and get a great player ofcourse)

I think jovetic gets a little bit overated by the media and some of the people on here. he is a great player, young but he hasn't done anything for me to prove that he is worth over 30 million 20-25 million is probably what he is worth but due to inflation will go for way more. thanks alot epl and psg

He has teared shit up at the CL and Serie A. Proven enough for me.

Juve's strikers 2013/2014: Giovinco, Vucinic, Llorente, Matri, Jovetic? :tuttosport: :tuttosport:

I would hope so but realistically i don't think we will get jojo and if the purple rats want over 30 million then i don't want juve paying it. giovinco and vucinic are good enough in that position I would argue llorente is more crucial. jovetic i see as more of a luxury signing once the team is complete( which it almost is)
I would actually be in favour of getting llorente on the cheap and selling 1 of vucinic or giovinco and matri or quagliarella and getting jojo( if he's affordable). that would make sense but executing it is another thing:cry:

I wonder how violently messi(when he played on the side) and ronaldo would get raped when going against Maldini, Baresi or Roberto Carlos
