A Dzeko loan would be great - but it will never happen. Why would City agree to that? There are a number of suitors for him so why wouldn't they just sell him if they don't want him.

Of course, if Marotta can pull that off, then perhaps there could be space for another decent signing.

like whom? milan can´t buy him anymore and bayern are set in their strikers department... i haven´t heard about other clubs being interested?! on the other hand he hasn´t really been on the market so...
Exactly. Milan can't buy him as they have filled up their Non-EU quota. Inter probably have other targets, Bayern already have Gomez and Mandzukic, Real, Barca, PSG will go for more fancy names, and no one in the PL really needs or wants him. I fail to see who these other suitors are :boh: :shifty:

3 things:

Marotta should get Alvaro Pereira. Cant afford Napoli to get this guy on a loan, ffs!!! He would fit perfectly in Juve. Lets go for him.

Maybe Marotta should give a look at Rossi. He's been injured for almost 2 years and would be a gamble, for sure.

But on the other hand: he's still young; he had a fuckin awesome season just before injuring; his price is certainly very low due to injuries and Villarreal is not keeping these guys, as they are in 2nd division. They could perfectly accepct a loan + option to buy. Very doable, and this could really pay off.

Also, it seems clear to me that Marotta is waiting for City to buy someone in order to chase Dzeko. I think that he'll wait to the very end of the mercato to see if that happens. Also, Llorente doesn't have many teams chasing him, so at the end of the mercato if Bilbao doesn't get any offers, they'll be desperate to sell him. It's a worth gamble by Marotta.

So Marotta's strategy is pretty clear. He's waiting till the end. If City buys a new striker, Dzeko is the one to come. Otherwise, it will be either Llorente or Jovetic.

Also it seems clear that Matri is not in Conte's plans. They'll let him go on a cheap and bring in Pazzini, who will cost a little more.

Oh and also I think Quags is staying. Only possibility of him leaving is the arrival of Rossi (but this is my idea, not Marotta's)

Hey, with Giovinco, Rossi, Vucinic, Dzeko/Llorente/Jovetic, Pazzini, we would be pretty good at CF, huge huge improvement from last season.

Still would like to see a reliable CB coming, though.

When will Rossi even be fit again? I would love him here, but there's no sense buying him just to keep our doctors busy for the time being.

hehe come on. Rossi could be available for something like 2M loan + 12M option to buy. Nobody is paying attention to this guy. Same value of Matri right now, but he's younger and has shown lots of potential. Just a bet, no pressure on the guy.. under these circunstances, he could very well succeed.

2m loan for what? he will be out injured AT LEAST till february/march and probably need some more months to become "match-fit" again... he had one of the worst injuries for a footballer, not once but TWICE and back-to-back. nobody knows if he will ever be close to being the same player he was 1-2 years ago again.
