Cause we can leak goals all overthe place as long as we have a good striker. #facepalm
Yes, we are just going to start leaking goals all of a sudden because of the loss of Bonnucci. The question was should we sacrifice the big name to pay more for a top notch CB? Someone like Bochetti isn't going to compromise the purchase of a big name player. You also happen to forget we have Masi and Marrone (who can fill in @ CB).

None of those names is good enough, if we're talking Europe.

If we do lose Bonucci for a long while would you guys prefer to spend a bit more on a CB and possibly lose out on that big name?
We must replace Bonucci in that case, nothing is more vital, considering our whole teams stability starts from the back.

Anyone who thinks likes of Masi and Marrone can replace our starting CBs are frigging deluded.

You know what this shows?

Although certain people don't want to admit it, Bonucci is far more important to Juve's plans than people want to admit

Lucio?
Its only pre-season, but I never seen a defender more uncomfortable in 3 man defence as Lucio is being for us so far, especially on the left of it, extremely nervy and shaky out there. Maybe different for him when he plays with Chiellini and Barzagli (though neither of these can do the central ball distributing task of the trio, closest is Barza), since so far he is playing with non CBs like Marrone, Licht or inexperienced Masi.

He is, because Conte loves the 3 man defence option, and Bonucci is vital for that, I would be way less nervous about not replacing him if we went back to 4 man defence, but we wont. Neither Lucio, healthy Caceres or non CBs being put there come close to being reasurring replacements for me. Especially since we are going to play CL, stability is extremely key.

Isn't the reason we have 5 mids (3 CMs) in the 352 to make it easier for the CBs to dish the ball off? I don't think they need to be significant ball distributors when all they need to do is pick out one of the 3 CMs that should all be showing for the ball.

No, but the central of the trio in defence needs to see alot of the ball in basic distribution at the back, needs to be someone who is comfortable with the ball and allways give the option of receiving the ball and starting it off at the back, Lucio and Chiellini are bumbling mofos with the ball at their feet (they can both run with it, but distributing is another thing), and Barza is decent enough in possession, but he plays on the right side because he is a very suitable organizing "stopper" not as much the anchor that ties things together.

yup, look here is a classic juve action, guess who made the most passes building the attack, Pirlo and then ... yeah Bonucci !
