You haven't seen what Liverpool pays for English players then. :D
I know that's funny too. But every Italian defender that comes out is the next big thing and has 15mln euros value (Bocchetti, Bonucci, Ranocchia, Astori, Criscito). Same with their striker, every striker is a 'great' poacher (Pazzini, Gilardino, Matri, Destro) and costs 15mln. You know what, not any foreign club is gonna pay that much for them. And it's Italian clubs who failed in Europe these years, lost a CL spot and everything.

What's your point?

Poachers need service, so of course they are somewhat reliant on the players around them.

Trezeguet wouldn't have looked any good without having great players around him.
Don't try, you wont convince him. Dusan doesn't like poachers and think we shouldn't sign one under any circumstances.

Big teams pay more for in form/better domestic players in any top league, that's just how the market works. In England it's ridiculous, clubs regularly pay £10m-€12m for domestic players who are from the second tier with current or newly relegated clubs.

True poachers (like the might Pippo) are a dying race though. Only few left and the ones with any success also have just a bit of ability in other fields. But every striker shouldn't be that total forward kind either. Not only does it only work on rare occasions (read teams) but it's also exceedingly dull.

I love the diversity of the forward role. The poachers, the target men, the trequartistas, the fantistas, the inside forwards, the boriellos.

Putting together a winning partnership requires taking into account the league, the forward types themselves and their skills, the formation and their service from the back. Fuck the 2 inside forward + a fake 9 of Barca. Give me a creative drifting forward paired with a natural born killer every day of the week.

tl;dr let's sign Inzaghi, guys.

Hmm we used to have one, quite a good one actually but then we got rid of him and payed his salary while he was at another club aswell. We still didn''t gave him a proper farewell match neither.

Inzaghi :yuck: :inter: Never liked him. I'm so glad we got rid of him and his overzealous celebrations. A frustrating player who scored a shitload of simple goals and got caught offside a gazillion times. He was a great poacher, but annoying as fuck.

the guy lived for the goal. Any goal in any way.

His diving sometimes made it hard but fuck it if I didn't just love watching him play. :D

My point is that Pazzini sucks which he did show many times in Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Inter.

Trezeguet is one in a billion, there are no players like him. But Gameiro for example would fit in better IMO.

And no, I'm not a fan of poachers at all. And again, only Italian clubs have such, they are useless in Europe.

Hmm Good call on Gameiro actually ,seems like PSG are trying to offload him and i read a few weeks ago that he is close to joining Valencia(which means its likely to be a lower fee ,whatever happened to that story) though his wages are pretty high..He earns 3.6m euros per annum..How about us chipping in with a bid perhaps ?

The quality of poachers around currently aren't the same anymore though, football became more physical.

I thought Pazzini was a good striker at Sampdoria, similar to the form Matri had at Juventus. Scored a good amount of goals, Cassano wasn't holding his hand so he deserves credit for it.

Juve are above having Pazzini as a starting striker in this team, if they could make a good deal out of selling Matri and get Pazzini very cheap then it might be a good way of making a bit of cash for a more quality forward.

No need to buy Pazzini whatsoever. Even if we do sell Matri... We would be buying someone we'd definitely would be trying to offload again next year. And we already know how much problems this has caused us...

Which is my point when I say that poachers suck, especially in Europe where they get cut down too easy. In majority of matches they will go unnoticed and they don't influence the game at all. Static players are old fashioned, they don't tend to do well outside of Serie A.
