Actually its just the headline.

The report itself says basically Juve hasn't given up on him. If we can't get him we'll go after Pazzini.

They say that now Roma and Milan have cash to throw - the player is valued around 12M.

And that Marotta set a limit of 10M cash + players. They mentioned El Kaddouri, who is about to move to Juve.

But no concrete news on that.

Also regarding Verratti, the president of Pescara actually said there's no done deal for him with PSG yet. He's going to preseason camp and he evaluates him 12M, not one penny less. And that currently there is no Italian club dealing for him.

This is said by tuttosport and also gazzetta. So I guess if Marotta decides to spend on him, things are still open.

About Armero - according to Tuttosport, it's almost a done deal, and yes it will be a loan + option to buy. They say it's 1.5/2M for the loan + 8/9M to buy.

Looks worthy, besides the steep price for the definite purchase... but paying 1.5M for using him this season is decent/good.

Finally, about the top striker - RVP and Suarez are distant dreams, unlikely. Marotta is deciding between Dzeko and Jovetic. He's waiting for City's next move to see who will be available. About Jovetic, Fiorentina seems to want 30M cash, so it's a problem.

Milan will get Dzeko, so only option is JoJo! :klin:

Why is 30 Million a problem? We need to get with the times. It's 2012, clubs overpay, and if we want our target we need to pay top dollar.

It's not as if Fiorentina are asking for 45 or 50 Million Euros, or are holding out for some ridiculous offer like that asswipe @ Nipples FC is doing with Cavani.

If someone unproven like Damiao is going to cost 20 Million, Lewandowski 22-23 Million, and Liverpool paid 35 Million Pounds for Carrol, not to mention our previous acquisitions of Amauri, Melo, and Diego (all upwards of 20 Million), then 30 Million for JoJo is a fair price.

I don't think Fiorentina will accept less than 20 Million in cash + players (Quag and Padoin perhaps), or maybe 22-23 Million + Quag.

I dont believe 30 mil is a problem but I also believe your premise is faulty. Just because idiotic clubs throw money away and over pay all while operating in the negative it doesnt mean or club should follow in the stupidity

I can see us getting Gaston Ramirez if we fail to sign Jo-Jo..Not a bad alternative at all..in the end if we fail to lure the aformentioned "top" player i think i would settle for Ramirez+Destro tbh..Both young promising players with potential.

Gaston will not help us with our scoring problems. He only scored like 15 goals for Bologna since 2010.

He is a big talent, but not a goalscorer.
He is a winger, he is not supposed to score much, though I allways been bit lukewarm about him because of his end product being not all that yet.

:agree: We might struggle to make it out of the group stage, depending on who we get.

30 Million for JoJo is what I would consider slightly overpaying for a top talent. I'm not saying offer Napoli 50 Million for Cavani FFS. Moreover, I'm not saying we should follow the example of those clubs, but I used them to highlight the fact that this is how the current market operates. If you want top talent like JoJo, Higuain, Cavani, or established footballers like Suarez, and Van Persie you are going to have to pay, and possibly overpay just a little bit to acquire your target.

the worrying thing about inflated transfer fees for players is we pay for them indirectly out of our own pockets :rab:
