Kolarov first choice for me, but I think Armero is a beast. The only problem I have with this deal is, that he will sort of overlap with DC who I consider to be an LwB and not an LB. Which is why we kinda needed an LB more than LWB. And Kolarov fits the bill there. Tuttosport seem pretty sure it's done, they're even reporting he'll be flying to Turin tomorrow.

What is Udine up to? Isla, Asamoah, Armero, Handanovic, Benatia next?!
Paying for the renovation of the stadio Friuili (~25 million euros). They already started works and it should be ready for next season(2013-2014)

Maybe they think "we are not going for the first place, Juventus is the favourites, Milan, Inter,Napoli all losing their key players, we still can beat them if we sell ours as well. Or they funding their stadium and their scouts have placed in the the replacement perfectly.

@salva

The Director and some of the editorial changed this year at Tuttosport and they seem quite reliable of late.
It seems like they've become more reliable, I was responding to the claim it's all the media when everyone is quoting Tuttosport on this.

Di Marzio has also been very good lately, he did well to go online to report news.

DC has to be the most overrated player on Tuz.
Not at all. If anything I think we don't give him enough credit. He has really grown into that role quite responsibly and impressed with almost every opportunity he has gotten IMO.

I think he's the most likely. Yes.
Contact for Suarez today btw.

Its just a business venture of sorts for Pozzo..It seems like they're not really interested in competing on the highest level..Find cheap young talents through their wonderful scouting system and sell them for profit,he just wants to make money in the end..Which is obviously sucking for the udinese fans..

It is the business model that allows them to stay in Serie A and be actually a good team to watch. Before the Pozzo bought the club and instituted their business model, Udinese were relegation strugglers who often ended up in Serie B.

when will he stop 'growing' and actually become a good player? not to mention keeps getting injured for long periods every single season.

am sure as hell not comfortable seeing him as the starter on an important European matchday.

what's he supposed to do, go ballz out and end up bankrupt like Leeds?

they know their limits and are financially above board whilst maintaining a good level in Serie A, that's more than enough.

well yeah but when they end up qualifying for the champions league for two years in a row ,i expect atleast a little bit of ambition on the owners part just to appease their fans..Keeping their best players for atleast a year for starters but looks like he isnt even interested in doing that.

Those players would have wanted a pay raise since they were on low salaries. The CL money wouldn't have been enough to keep them and finance the renovation of stadio Friuli.

financially speaking when this "model" has worked out so well for Pozzo ,i doubt anything would change even when and once the stadium renovation is complete..

i atleast hope they dont finish 3rd next year again..

Its safe to conclude that he's locked down that left side in capable fashion on enough occasions to prove that he must stay on the team is my point. He may not be a starter week in and week out, because anyway Kolarov is my first choice, but I think he's more than capable of filling in a good shift whenever we need him. At the end of the day, he's a very useful player and I'd be sorry to see him go or be used as a makeweight in any deals.

not saying we sell him, just that he's not a long term option...and even you admit to that by suggesting we make a signing like Kolarov.
