Everyone is talking about Adriano as if something concrete is going on. I have not seen a reputable website or newswire even mentioning this potential transfer.

I wonder what our budget is in this transfer campaign because we have already spent a lot on Asamoah, and Isla as well as buying out Caceres, Giaccherini and Giovinco. Lucio and Pogba are free but we just signed Leali for around 5m.

Granted we can raise a lot from Elia, Krasic, Melo, Pazienza & Padoin (can't see where he fits in with all these new midfield signings).

One thing is for sure, we look like the only club in Serie A that is spending meaningfully. Good thing is, I wonder how much more clubs like PSG and Man City will spend. Chelsea could do some damage as they revolutionize their squad while Man United tend not to break transfer records. Barca and Real are not likely to do much on the striker front - more in defense I suspect.

I am quite sure there is some kind of a 'compromise' on Udinese's behalf over Asamoah and Isla deals. There is no possible way Marotta will pay 18+m for an injured player, when he was unwilling to pay 20m for Rossi minus his injury and 4-5m extra to Aguero. Asamoah wasn't injured, but still United made only a 12m offer, so selling to us for another 18m isn't 'doing us a favor'...
Leali, Lucio are great deals. Mixture of youth and experience, but more importantly great value for the money spent.
Giovinco I have my doubts about. Hopefully he isn't on a new contract yet and would be given this season to prove what kind of contract he deserves. He is an italian NT forward (which isn't saying as much these days as it used to) and he costs us 7m plus we can always make a few millions profit off him. All in all, again, a good deal.
Adriano? - If we don't overpay we can add him to the fantastic value list.

-----------------------
Now if someone can make a calculation of how much thats leaving us for the CF/SS position. With Giovinco we are getting one forward, but we still have to sell and it might turn out we are about to sell big time upfront...no?

I choose to be greedy, if Marotta gets him, a 20 goal scorer and a RW i give him a 10.
With Jewvinco here there is no way in hell we are getting the RW. We have to sell like crazy for that to happen.
With 3 in front.
Vucinic - TOP CF - ISLA
Giovinco - Matri/Quag - Pepe

We have to sell Pepe if we want to bring RW. And Isla turns a 18m+ sub?!?
Quag or Matri has to go anyway. Krasic/Elia are goners.
What happens to Giaccerini? 4rd LB/3rd LW/ 6th CM spots? Even he won't stay for that.

With 2 in front.
Vucinic - TOP CF
Giovinco - Matri/Quag

I would be very surprised if we sign more than 1 forward, but now I am looking forward to see how are we going to sell. Cause we have to sell a lot and that will undoubtedly be decisive on our transfer market. Especially considering the value of the players we have to dispense with might be within the 50+m range.

I think i stated the obvious by mentioning i chose to be greedy. What ever you mentioned here is something everyone knows.
Take a chill pill.

seeing the mercato we are going to play with the 352 and we won't need a rwf
Ya i know, but Conte does change between 3-5-2 and to 4-3-3 depending on the formation and circumstance.

And even if we play 433 we dont need a new RWF.
Just wanted to be greedy, after all it is still the wishlist thread right ? It's just that seeing Pepe doing extremely well under Conte, makes me wonder how would someone with a bigger talent would do under Conte on the RW position.
Offcourse, i only mentioned the RW if we do sell Pepe based on the reported rumor for 15mill.

Latest rumors linking us with Balzaretti for LB. Marotta seems to be comfortable shopping within the league. I hope we do sign some talents from outside the league maybe S.A.

quick opinion question whos the greatest out of pirlo, riquelme, scholes and xavi

i would say pirlo personally because i think he had the best technique out of the 4 but if riquelme ever stayed at barca or moved to the serie a or 1 of the top english clubs he would be the stand out player.

Pirlo and Xavi are levels above Riquelme and Scholes IMO.
scholes is obviously 1 of the best players ever and all that but i think if pirlo, xavi or riquelme played in the epl for united in their prime they would look even better players then they are. basing it on the fact I think the epl has less technical and tactical football( it is catching up because of the foreign players they have but the english players are still light years away)
