Well, he ain't.

Marchisio is a nobody-name (still) outside of the italian football scene, under the euros he has been the least talked about midfielder from the italian lineup.
Yea so what's your point Italia has been the least talked about team and there in the final. The media is bs they just ride the names

Ok, this is a serious question and pleaser answer it honestly. Do you really think that the general opinion is that Marchisio is better than Busquets? I'm not asking if you think Juve fans think Marchisio is the better player, but if football fans in general think Marchisio is better?

The only reason busquets is given so much credence is because he's Spanish have to ride them right now because the world says their the best

Not true.
On the contrary, he is a well known player in Europe, if our words mean nothing to you and the rest who doesnt rate Marchisio, then theres always the likes of Sir Alex, Mancini and etc, who speaked highly of him and even expressed their willingness to sign him during the last year and a half. A fun fact - when Man Utd interest came, the press in England labelled him "the next Paul Scholes", I seriously doubt that a nickname like that can be given to a nobody-name...

Like or dislike our Principino all you want, but the fact is that Claudio slowly improves his game, finished his best season in his career so far, helped his nation to reach the final in Euro 2012 and most important - he is just a step away from completing the transformation from "a decent prospect, who got his shot in the first team thanks to Calciopoli" into a player of top quality, and I dont know about you guys, but personally I feel extremely lucky to have him in my team.

Since the average football fan watches almost exclusively the BPL and/or La Liga, he is most likely thinking that Busquets is the superior player since he hasn't watched Marchisio enough.
This. And I think that average football fans are truly retarded. Watching EPL/8-0 Liga tells enough.

No doubt about it! :) I think Marchisio is extremely underrated as well. I'm simply asking Lapa this - in my opinion - pretty obvious question to see if he has any sense of reality at all... I respect personal opinions - even if he thinks freaking De Ceglie is better than Bale, but it always annoys me when people can't tell what the general consensus is when it is this obvious.

I'm not sure what you are asking me...I've been a huge Marchisio fanboy for years, I think that he is underrated. Media never writes about him that much, which is a good thing actually.

My experience is exactly the same. In some ways, it's a good thing since Italy and Juve aren't getting the respect they deserve, but on the other hand it's frustrating to see so many bandwagon fans.

I was asking you if you really thought the average football fan rated Marchisio higher than Busquets. That was my question right from the start. :)

Come on guys fans or not Busquets has been a starter in both Barcelona and his NT for some time now. And both clubs are packed with talent right now. I've seen him play all around the field, including playing as a CB so he isn't bad at all. Neither Guardiola nor Del Bosque are scared of benching players. They are too big for that and Busquets until recently was no one... He is a dirty fuck, full of nasty tricks - but is this boy a complete midfielder = YES.
Marchisio is doing great no doubt about that, but he hasn't been so consistent throughout his career.
