I think that it was a little different with Adriano.

As crazy as Balotelli is, and yeah, he is capable of doing stupid things, he has never shown the tendency to fall into various states of depression the way that Adriano did. Adriano's mental issues were more akin to an illness than anything else. Constantly being homesick, vicious bouts of depression, especially after his father died, and the like.

Also, physically speaking, Adriano never had the body type where you would look at him and say that he is 100% fit and lean. maybe for a year or so you could say that. More often than not, it was never the case with him. Adriano putting on 10 lbs, for instance, was very noticeable. Balotelli is a physical specimen who takes care of his body.

All things being equal, I think that it is apples and oranges when comparing the two

I'm not saying its the same thing, I'm just saying a player can go from star to zero ina very short time and the risk is higher when the player is an idiot, like Adriano also was.

He's not the first nor the last 21 year old player to be in the spotlight.

And of course you'll be in the media spotlight when you get 5 red cards a season, burn down your house, throw darts at youth players, drive around with cash on your car seat "because you can", etc, etc... the examples are countless.

My problem with Balotelli isnt that he's immature, its that he is a complete and utter asshole. And we dont need that.
Maybe he is.. but he will be a good and delicious asshole!

Adriano's problems were deeper than just having a bit of an attitude/being lazy. Unfortunate, he was a monster.

I agree that Balotelli can be put in a much better place here. Without taking any of his past history with Juve into consideration, I funnily think it's a great environment currently for him to thrive in. Probably the best in world football at the moment.

Conte won't bother though.

so you know him personally than? He does some stupied things but i dont think he is mean or anything. ok, maybe the dart thing was not very nice. We need good players, and winners. And to counter the looser mentallity we got by bringing gio back, it would be perfect to counter that with a pure winner in balotelli. And we all know conte doesnt like winners right?

Balo's craziness is overrated.

Everything he does is exaggerated by media, just by mentioning his name their articles become more interesting to read.

FFS, loser mentality we got by buying Gio? Balo winner mentality? the guy that almost fucked his team when they were chasing after the title? His actions speak for him, he's an ass. He might not be mean, but he's an ass.

scoring two goals in the euro semi finals againt germany, and taking italy to the final is a WINNER. Doing so at age 21 is incredible.

his celebration after the 2. goal says it all
