chill, im messing around.
I used to think so to until just a few weeks ago when I realised that there are no inzaghi's anymore with a few exceptions. They have been replaced with more versatile players that are more athletic. Hiaguin and Gomez the updated Inzaghi's to fit the modern football. I think balotelli can become one too. I would LOVE to see him join us. If we have found out in a year that he was not a striker but a seconda punta we can get a new striker next year and sell one of gio, vuci, or balo. He needs to be more clinical but so far he has shown that he has workrate too and not only potential. Yesterday we could him backtrack every time Marchisio when offensive and the Germans got the ball. That truly convinced me.
What 1 game can do to people here:
Before the game: "Balotelli is overated" "dont want Balotelli here" "Hummels is great, lets sign him"
After 1 game and I repeat 1 game: "Hummels was a joke against Italy, Hummels is overated" "wouldnt sign Hummels"
I bet if Balotelli doesnt put a performence against Spain he`ll be called as overated again
Now to the reality: Balotelli is a great player with huge potential. He could become one of the best as he is very strong has some powerfull and quite accurate shooting skills, can dribble altough I think he could improve on that one can give some nice headers and quite fast (IMO).
His problem is that his behaviour could make him miss on his potential.
I see him like Cassano - Cassano was already great but not WC before he went to Sampdoria. He was a great player with great potential but his behaviour made him miss on this potential.
Cassano then moved to Sampdoria and matured a lot therefore allowing him to reach his potential and altough it took him some time his change of behaviour ultimately made him reach his potential and become wc.
Balotelli right now is just another great player - He is no Cavani RVP Higuain actually his level of play right now is quite similar to Dzeko (he is better than Dzeko in many things but the thing is give Dzeko a chance and you can count on him making it count). Balotelli`s potential however could make him surpass all of them.
Right now I dont know if Balotelli is a 20+ goals a season player but he could definitely reach it and if he fullfills his full potential he could also reach 30
As for Hummels - He wasnt that bad actually. He was fooled by Cassano for the 1st goal but other than that he had a decent game IMO. I actually saw some great things about Hummels. He is a smart defender who can mark well.
Badstubber however had an aweful night.
