What are you trying to insinuate? We all know that Delaurentis won't sell Cavani especially to an Italian club for less than 70 mill. He will also want a raise in salary. So the reality is these strikers except a few that we are supposedly connected to we're never really in our prospects
I wasn't referring to Cavani. What i meant is we wont know the difference of our bid and the price demanded unless Marotta openly says we missed out on this player because of this much of difference in valuation. If we are going by the rumour, we know we placed a bid for Torres at 30m, thus we have a fund up at least up to 30 mil. But how many top CF we can get for that value ? Not many in my opinion. How much are you willing to go for your CF?

Like I said in the Cavani thread 35 million is a good price. I think for that price we can get Dzeko, Balotelli, maybe Higuain and def some of the younger newer names like lewondowski etc

Reus is a SS and not the goalscorer we need.

Giroud is still available?
Stats of 21 goals and 10 assists disagrees with you.He is as much as a goalscorer as he's an assist maker..Anyways no point discussing over this..

And Giroud will complete his move to Arsenal once France are done with the Euros.

I think Marotta would probably overpay for Destro than even considering the thought of hijacking this Giroud deal.

12m pounds is his transfer fee..That sounds reasonable as hell.

That's exactly what we mustn't do. Waste more funds on meaningless acquisitions.

I'm not saying go out and splash 50 Million on Cavani, Higuain, or Van Persie, but if the difference is somewhere between 5-8 Million, then we must be willing to make some sacrifices and compromises for the greater good of the team.

Regarding Chelsea, I was referring to Drogba. He may be old, but the way he carried them through when they needed him most, shows that he is a class player. Do you see Matri or Quag doing the same for us? I highly doubt it.

We may or may not challenge for the CL this year, next year, or even the year after. However, that isn't for you or me to decide; it's down to the management, and I do recall them saying we are in it to win it, otherwise there'd be no point in competing. The onus is on them to deliver, and that's why a top class CF is essential. We can't keep delaying $#@! every year. We said the same thing last year, and we had legitimate excuses; this time around, we barely have any, if not none at all.

Juventus have always had quality strikers/forwards; our history and tradition demands it. Either we get JoJo/Suarez (even though they are not supreme goal scorers, they are high quality and versatile) this year, and Higuain/Cavani the next (or vice-versa), or this mercato will be deemed a failure by me, as we simply failed to address our most pressing issue, the need for a proven goal scorer.
I already agreed we need one and 5 mil extra above a player his value is not overpaying in my view. At least not for a top player. But we do not need Van Persie for instance. Although he banged them in last season he would not at all transform our team. Higuain for instance would, but he's out of reach by a long shot.

We need someone who fits the bill completely or no one t all. Another ss like Jojo is just buying a big name for the sake of it. Suarez could come in handy as a RW but it's not what we need, so it would be money thrown away.

We need someone who can lead the line for years to come. Those years are MUCH MORE IMPORTANT than our CL shot next year. Think long term, my friend.
