PDC could take the position but Vidal would be wau better. With this formation we only have the best players on the field - PDC is far from anything near the top 11 in this squad. He just fits the position - Vidal would too and with Asamoah in the midfield? I see it..
You has potential WC midfielder and you wants to play him out of position? And have you seen Vidal at LB or LWB? He looks too average in that position.

Lets not forget that Pirlo wont play every game next season..We need a fit and healthy Pirlo in the CL.

I could see Conte eventually trying out Asamoah-Vidal-Marchisio trident.

Last time I saw Vidal play left back he was shit. He is world class in his role, it would be stupid to waste him. I have a lot of faith in DC after last season I think he'll continue to impress at least in the 4-3-3. He looks to have matured defensively under Conte and he can cross better than any of our left flank players.

What i'm not sure of is how we're going to use Licht next season. Will Isla be our first choice for RB as well as RWB?

:agree:

Caceres, Licht and Isla all for the right wing back position seems a bit like overkill, but then Isla and Martin are versatile so there'll be room for everyone I think.

PDC for the left flank  very underrated around these parts, he should definitely be at the Euros right now also.

That trident will be insanely strong. But we need a creative player in addition to Vucinic up front to replace Pirlo's creation in the midfield, I can see it works but wont be easy.

He's for RWB I think, Licht is great as RB why replace him?

A little but more realistic but still awesome:
Buffon
Barzagli-Chiellini-Bocchetti
Isla------- --------------PDC
Vidal-Pirlo-Asamoah
Van Persie-Vucinic
I wouldn't mind getting Bocchetti, but there's no way I'd drop Bonucci to start him.

Bonucci still adds the calmness and reassurance in possession which would be lost, and he can pop up with some nice passes every so often. I think he'll grow into that role even more next season.

Bonucci is easily better than him..I've seen Bocchetti and he seems average at best.Would be ok as a backup though.

I hope we don't go into next season with PDC as our only true LB/LWB. It would be amazing if we get Kolarov. I think we'd still need 1 more CB though because 4 CBs aren't enough for 3-5-2 if Conte wants to keep versatility through injuries/fatigue etc.

Buffon
Barzagli-Bonucci-Chiellini
Isla-Vidal-Pirlo-Marchisio-Kolarov
Cavani/Pipita-Vucinic

I would rather play a class player out of position if that would benefit the team as a whole. PDC isnt class IMO and I would play Vidal as RWB, yes, given the alternative that we also have a very solid solution for CM in Asamoah. Fielding 11 class players > fielding 11 players on natural position.

It's a bit like...

Chiellini as LB if we sign a new world class CB..

Off topic; It's about time we lower the age of this team.. Building for the future means -25 year old players. (Asamoah, Isla, Pogba, Verratti) but also regarding the other positions such as LB, CB, CF, SS IMO.. Anyone above 25 should be immidiate world class ei Barzagli otherwise I would go for lower standard players being years younger. Like Arsenal - it's not like we're gonna win CL next year anyway! (So no - Kolarov is too old IMO)

Leali - done
Asamoah & Isla - close
Beltrame - close (buyout option)
Pogba - SOON
El Kaddouri - soon
Verratti - in progress
Destro / Gabbiadini - perhaps
Peluso - inevitable
Obiang - Marotta wants

Could we get anyone else for CB/LB? Or is he just going to be backup for both? (I assume backup...)

Are you dumb or something? I would rather play Vidal, Marchisio, Pirlo, Asamoah > De Ceglie, Marchisio, Pirlo, Vidal IMO

Vidal can play multiple positions so yes, he can play LWB too. Im do understand how this is stupid when he can be world class as CM, but so could Asamoah? And if Vidal can rotate I don't see the problem.. Taking Barca into this example is just stupid; they've got WC players on so many positions - we dont. PDC is mediocre ffs
