Apparently many Italian clubs will be looking for Giuseppe Rossi's signature come January. AC Milan, Juventus, Roma, Fiorentina and Napoli all said to be interested.

I can see either Osvaldo, Lewandowski, or Rossi coming to reinforce the attack.

We don't need much upgrading in the other departments. Hopefully Marotta can just focus on the attack this once.
Shall we start :tuttosport: already?

I think he can score many goals for us.
Negredo scored more in each of the last 5 seasons. He had a 20 goals season. Osvaldo's biggest tally is 13 or 14 IIRC.
So it's clear that Negredo is better as of yet, or in another words you don't have any argument that can conclude that Osvaldo is better. :boh:

But it was my argument that Giovinco could play RW with some success, albeit not as effective as the LW. That was what we were arguing about, for crying out loud!

Pablo Osvaldo, 26 years old:

11/12 : 9 goals 5 assists 2100 minutes
10/11: 14 goals 3 assists 1900 minutes
09/10: 10 goals 1 assist 2000 minutes
08/09: 0 goals 1 assist 1000 minutes

Negredo, 27 years old:

11/12: 15 goals 5 assists 3000 minutes
10/11: 29 goals 13 assists 3700 minutes
09/10: 14 goals, 4 assists 1 autogoal 2700 minutes
08/09: 21 goals, 6 assists 3000 minutes

Here you go.

Consistently higher minutes in a better team: better stats. I think they're equal in terms of quality, Osvaldo just has better technique and much better speed. I like Osvaldo more, therefore I would like him more at our club. Don't get me wrong, Negredo would be a significant upgrade to our striking squad, too.

They are not equal of term of quality, Negredo is better as the statistics shows, he's the better gaol scorer, he's technique is good enough if you watched him you'll know that. He's a physical beast and isn't slow at all.
He's worst season is equal to osvaldo's best season.

So next time before you start  at someone's claims do your homework first. It makes you look stupid.

First of all I think Nani needs a change. He's a winger, played a lot on the right. He runs a lot and is able to track back. He gives you a lot in terms of attack; he's fast, got great ball skills and very nice passing. If Vucinic can run a lot then Nani can even more.

I agree we need a forward but imo we need a good one. None of these will be available in January so that's why I'd probably go for Nani. He would suit our style very well.
We can't get players just because they are available. I think we are way past that point (for good!) ... If Conte plans to change things around and use wingers - Nani might be useful, but as it stands he is a rotational player at best in Manchester... I wouldn't go for him.

About the forwards - we desperately need one, although I am starting to believe that our setup is physically very taxing on the forwards, doesn't support poachers and uses certain skills that are not widely utilized by other teams' tactics. Falcao might not be such a goal beast were he to play for us.

I agree with the first part and disagree with the second one.

Yes it's up to Conte to decide such things. I don't like the idea sticking to one formation - we should switch from 3-5-2 to 4-3-3 and the other way around more often. We're not Barca to dominate every game with the same tactics. Switching formations was our weapon last season (remember the game against Ynter?) and we should continue like this.

About Falcao I disagree. The guy is a poacher, very effective one but have you seen him play against Chelsea for example? The guy's got it all, he's good with playing with his back to the goal, he's got good technique and stamina. He would be a beast for us. His positioning is great and he's clinical. In Spain they play just like we do so it shouldn't be hard to adapt. Imo Cavani would have it harder since Napoli is a counter-attacking team (have you seen them struggle against 10-man Catania?).

Also in his best season he played almost twice the minutes Osvaldo did. "If you watched him you'll know that" is such a bullshit argument, I wouldn't be arguing this case if I didn't know enough about the player and what he does. You're massively overrating Negredo.

I don't overrate Negredo at all, i rate him fairly, and in his thread the first thing i said about him is that he's a Roma type of player.
The problem is that when i said that i would take Negredo over Osvaldo you loled like i was comparinh him to Messi altough the spanish is the better player going by the statistics and the longevity of the goal scoring seasons.

We have no competent natural LB...only two players who can be relied upon in either of two defensive positions LB, LWB, one of whom is our strongest CB, the other more naturally a CM.

Striker is more important, but then, next on the list of importance is a LB/LWB who can defend, to challenge/share with Asamoah...I hope we finally sell de ceglie in the Winter break.
