in my opinion we should focus on losing the deadweight... melo, elia, pazienza, motta and krasic could easily net 25 million..
add a couple million and we have a top striker..
Melo is worth EU9-10m, Elia 7-8m, Pazienza 4-5m, Motta 2m, Krasic 9m. Easily 30-33m for those players.

But. We just bought out Caceres, Giaccherini and Giovinco. Thats 22m used up. Isla and Asamoah is another 15m for only 50% of those players.

Ideally, we should spend 30m on a top striker and perhaps Destro 10-12m. 40m to be spent on strikers and perhaps 10-12m on a left back like Kolarov or similar. Matri is likely to be sold and I would also throw in Padoin. Those 2 would net us 16m (12m for Matri and 4m for Padoin).

Plus we should be able to sell Ziegler for 3m and Martinez for 1-2m. But we buy 50% of Verrati for 5m (but will play at Pescara).

Total net spend is close to 40m which is not a small amount of money.

That is for a squad like this:

GK: Buffon, Storari, Manninger?
Def: Lichsteiner, Caceres, Bonucci, Barzagli, Chiellini, 4th choice CB (loan or bosman), Kolarov (or similar), De Ceglie
Mid: Vidal, Pirlo, Marchisio, Asamoah, Isla, Giaccherini, Pogba, Pepe
Fwd: Vucinic, Giovinco, RVP/Higuain/Cavani/Suarez (or whatever that big name striker is), Quagliarella, 5th striker?

Yes, because signing Suarez or Jovetic is easy.
Of course it's not. However, it's nor plausible that every one of our fucking targets is impossible to acquire. We must be willing to try harder and make sacrifices/compromises if necessary. Players of such quality and caliber are totally worth it. I never said it was easy, but we are Juventus, and our history and tradition demands that we give it our all.

I can't see Marotta paying 30 million euros on a player in the foreseeable future.

Whats with these reports in the media saying Mandzukic is our No.1 target ?

Knowing our board i wouldnt be surprised.
:yuck: :inter: That would totally suck. The guy reminds me of Kovacevic for some reason. I'm not saying Kovacevic was bad, far from it, but he was like 3'rd/4'th choice when he was here, not a starter. Mandzukic is definitely not the striker we should be going for.

I miss the old days. Even guys like Matri and Quag would've struggled to get a game with the likes of Kovacevic and Zalayeta lurking.

12 goals in 32 games is quite a poor record as well especially when we are in a dire need of a prolific goal-scorer..I think even Matri has a better record than him.Seriously i'll be so furious with the board if we ever end up signing him.

Then he shouldn't have come out and opened his big fat mouth talking about a big name striker.

I hope you are wrong, because we need that 30+ Million player. Quality players are totally worth it. Look at how much money they can generate from shirt sales, expanding our fan base, making us a more appealing prospect, etc...

RVP, Higuain, or Suarez joining Juventus is a true signal of intent. It shows we are able to prise away top talents from other leagues, and establishes us as a force/power to be reckoned with again. More players will want to join us. Signing Destro does shit for our image. I mean, with all due respect to Destro, who outside of Serie A has heard of him? Do you think players will be clamoring over coming to Juventus once they hear that the mighty Destro is our star signing? :howler:

100% agreed..I just hate this false hope of seeing a big name here..Instead of talking crap to the media why dont they just say that we need to comply to FFP's demands and we cant afford a big name rather than raising hopes among the fans.
