or hernanes
marchisio does not suck

i think hernanes is to static for our game , on the other hand he has 2 legs of gold
he feels no diference left or right
once while he was hitting the corner , going to hit it with right , than looks the players on field and changes his position to hit with the left , never seen a player do that

If anyone in our midfield is to be replaced now, it should definitely be Vidal. I would keep our midfield trio as it is, and get a quality back up for them, but just hypothetically speaking if we were to change one it would be Vidal. Marchisio has offered a lot more than Vidal has too be honest.

Marchisio has his days when he's behind the scenes. But tell me a time when he majorly screwed up? He's always playing decent to great.

I can tell you many times when Vidal has done some pretty big mistakes.

so? i'd rather have a player that takes initiative and tries something, rather than a player that ALWAYS goes for the safe option and likes to hide.

funny how you only point out his mistakes, yet fail to point out how much ground he covers, how much defesnive work he does, his assits, his pressing, or his movements.

edit: let alone this is his first season with us, and he has been very impressive at the age of 24. his play time in germany also indicates he is a quality player.

marchisio only (for first half ) this season at age of 26 is starting to make any meaningful impact.

indeed. marchisio showing up for the 6 games a year is very improtant.

how about we get a player that shows up for the other 32
another reason marchisio doesn't show up much lately is is the 352
in the 352 the middfielders need to do a lot more defensive work for the wingers to be more free of defensive duty and go up in attack , (althrough at our 352 our wingers are useless) and consequently make less runs forward in general and help less in the offensive phase
if you look at napoli they don't have pirlo, marchisio , vidal in middfield they have got much more muscle
i am pretty sure that with the return of the 433 both vidal and marchisio will perform better

If him playing safe means he gets 5+ goals a season, I'm all for it.

Marchisio covers a lot of ground too.

Exactly. When we returned to a 4-3-3, did you see Marchisio come alive?

I'm not saying Vidal isn't a good player. I love Vidal, but if anyone should be replaced its him IMO.

3-5-2 is indeed bad for our midfielders, yet i am not convinced marchisio is a viable 1st team starter for long term.

If we could sell Marchisio for 20M to Manchester United lets say, I'm all for it. We'd be foolish not too. However, if you're not convinced about Marchisio as a starter I don't know why you're convinced about Vidal.
