With all the talk of who they are going to buy in the summer, the fact that this team has dropped 8 attainable points with those 4 draws at home are very disconcerning. They are pissing away a golden opportunity to at least clinch a CL spot by mid April if this keeps up.

Have to post this here...

Juve admit to minnows problem
By Football Italia staff
Juventus director general Beppe Marotta has admitted that his team do struggle to breakdown teams who primarily opt to defend.

The Old Lady were held to their fourth home draw of the season against Siena on Sunday. That 0-0 followed ties with Bologna, Genoa and Cagliari.

“We’ve drawn with four mid-table sides, teams who are not amongst the top outfits[/B],” Marotta told Radio Rai on Monday.

“This demonstrates that we do have problems in getting through these defences.[/B] However, I do think that Serie A is the most balanced championship in Europe.”

While Milan have a player like Zlatan Ibrahimovic to resolve games, it is said that the Turin giants lack a star-man who can win a match on his own.

“The statistics speak for themselves as we adopted a policy of rejuvenation at this club,” the official added.

“Within a year and a half we changed 19 players from 24, so there are only five players from the old management.

“It is clear that the players of great value, the talents of the game, are rare and involve significant financial investment.

“Our first job was to work on quantity, then quality this year and we will see what we do next time…”

Returning to the 0-0 with Siena, Marotta was yesterday very critical of the decision not to award a penalty to Juventus for a Simone Vergassola handling offence.

“I just wanted to highlight the fact that there needs to be more attention when deciding which referees are given which games,” he added.

“I’ve always said that the big teams need to have the best and most experienced referees. Certain games need experienced officials and a referee who knows how to handle difficult situations.

“Look at players. If you have talent then you can play for a big club when you are 16, but players who are not that good are sent out to smaller clubs to gain experience. It should be the same for referees.”

:agree:

Right now, I think this club's sole responsibility is clinching the CL for next year (obviously that's where this club belongs but the money that comes with it can't be ignored). If we win the league, then great, but I want the CL next year and that needs to be the top objective.

Thankfully we are well on our way to that and I fully expect us to clinch group qualification. :)

But winning the league would be so freakin' sweet. :p

Buffon
Licht-Barzagli-Chiellini-Cissokho
Vidal-Pirlo-Marchisio
Ramirez-Matri-Jovetic

I think that is an entirely achievable team for next year and a very good one. We won't need to worry about Eu-spots as two our our buys will be from inside Italy, players we know already succeed here, are young, and can easily increase the much needed creativity of this team by increasing the threat in and around the box as well. I think Matri will do well when he has 2 hardworking & creative players on both sides.

I think also that this trio will bang in a lot more goals that the one we use now(finally taking Pepe out).

If we have the money, then sure let's replace Matri with the WC ST...but I think these 3 buys are more than enough to pretty much complete this squad.

To appease Gramps (Sergio), let's get a young striker like Desto...one for the future and perhaps we might not need to spend millions on a Benz or Higuain.

Thankfully we are well on our way to that and I fully expect us to clinch group qualification. :)

It would be sweet, of course. 2 years of no CL is what our motivation needs to be...sooner or later we will win trophies again, but we need that money for investments.

I have a very good feeling that we will sell the rest of Giovinco to Parma and buy Gaston :)tuttosport:) from Bologna. He's gonna be awesome and he's already pretty good. Would easily start on the right of our 4-3-3.

Forza youth.

I wonder how much we will make during home CL games. Will we charget he same amount for tickets? How does that work?
Good question. I pulled up Inters site :)shifty:) and they have a separate price list for Serie A and CL matches.

Champions League: http://www.inter.it/en/biglietti/prezziCL.html
Serie A: http://www.inter.it/en/biglietti/prezzi.html

I imagine the CL's price will rise the deeper they go into the tournament. Also these CL prices are for OM, I would imagine they would charge more if they were paired with United or Barca or some other giant club.

I've been trying to say this since we sold Trezeguet. We need a game changer over any other position now. We needed one the moment we sold Trez and Amauri starting going to hell in a hand basket.

We don't have a difference maker that can change the course of our struggling games, such as Ibrahimovic at Milan.

This summer, before we buy any LB, CM backup, etc...we need a Mr. X.
i agree we need a number 10 , if i had to choose althrough imposible , i would go for robben ,
althrough i don't get why mention trezeguet he was not a game changer

i think you are right about prices
but i thought there was a limit about the ticket prices in CL , i thought that uefa controlled that

Trezeguet was absolutely a game changer, just not like in the sense you are thinking. He would be an absolute ghost for 88 mins then BAAM, score the winning goal. He did that a lot...and we need someone that can be that cunning or a creative force. Fox in the box or an SS...either one, we need someone that can change a game.

pfff way too injury prone and Ribery (who has always been better imo) is in the form of his life right now despite also being injury prone but nowhere near as much as Robben.

nothing against ribbery
but i was looking for someone on the right to replace pepe

i don't consider trezeguet a game changer
the game changer is del piero , the number 10 who with a genius movement or dribble creates the occasion for the goal or scores
trezeguet is not a game changer for me
not that i would not wanted trezeguet if you gave him to me

I'm sure Ribery could play on right or Mirko could move to the right. There's no point discussing this anyway since neither Ribery or Robben will come to Juve.
