they're no son of the soil like DDR.
:D

Regardless, if he wants to win something but stay close to family/friends I think he would join one of the top 3, providing they are ambitious and looking to win something soon. Roma will not in the next 3-4 years look like a team that can do that, esp with LE at the helm.

I don't see, other than money and a lot of it, why he would want to move to england. Spain is a different story.

And as mentioned before, we have a lot of national team players where he would mesh well instantly. Not to mention walk into the starting 11 quite easily.

Our marqee signing will be Guiseppe fucking Rossi, I can see it now. Rossi and GM will be sitting at the press conference, Rossi saying how its an honour to play for us and GM will have a big smile on his face like he's impressed by pulling off a massive transfer coup. Fuck off, do not Rossi anywhere near our club.
Very serious injury which will result with him missing this entire season. Teams would not want to pay a lot for him nor will Villarreal want to sell Rossi when his price will be at the lowest possible level.

I really can't see De Rossi coming here. Manchester City or Real Madrid will take him from us. And if RM takes DDR, lets take Sahin. :weee:

Lets get some German/Turkish blood in here.

he is still in talks to renew with roma
there is a point in his contract that that you can buy him for 12 and it must be done 1 month before the end of the season if i remember correctly
but his agents want to lower the sum to 8 and extend that period from what i read
and all this is done so that if he is taken by another team , they will pay him very low and he would be able to get a very big contract

I don't think we even bought the ticket for Pizarro, and he's not someone we should be looking at to buy in the summer anyway.

I think Marotta and co will end up feeling forced to spend big money on at least one star signing, not those in the Krasic or Vucinic price range. With the CL this would help both financially and in terms of lure.
Pizzarro would be a great addition for close to nothing. I'd be all for getting a Sahin kind of player, but that wont happen. In the position that we are in, players like Pizarro could add a lot more to this team than a Padoin would.

Agreed about splashing the cash on one marquee signing. This is something Marrotta wanted to do last season, before Conte channelized the spending more specifically. This season though, with a probably CL return, and DP's imminent departure there will be a player signed in the 30m range, one at most, supplemented with a player in the Vucinic/Krasic category.

As Alen said, G.Rossi could come dirt cheap and give us an edge leaving us with plenty of extra Cash to sign Jovetic/Lavezzi, for example.

It would be great if we could get Rossi for a bargain, and still be able to sign Jovetic.

Buffon
Lichtsteiner Barzagli Chiellini Caceres
Vidal Pirlo Marchisio
Jovetic Rossi Vucinic

However, I'm still hoping for a star midfielder to come, as well as a quality LB/CB.

meh.

Buffon
Licht-Barzagli-Chiellini-Caceres
DDR(free)-Pirlo-Marchisio
Jovetic(25m)-Cavani(30m)-Vucinic

:shocked2:

That midfield trio would be like the New England Patriots vs the Mifflin Elementary Eagles flag football team.

Dzeko for big cash, that's a big no-no for me. His first touch is abmysal, from what I've seen anyway. But it could be that his confidence is low in Man C too I guess.

Cavani on the other hand is a gem. But if he leaves Italy it'll be for Real, Barca or a big spender in PL. Napoli would want a huge amount for him and I'm sorry to say, don't think we have it. We couldn't match their salary offers either.

Sorry for The Captain Obvious.

I'd love to have Rossi over here for a good price in the middle of a trident. With Vucinic, Rossi and say Giovinco, we would have a lot of creativity up front and if Rossi can score 35 goals last year I have no idea why he wouldn't score at least 20 goals with us. Also, he offers a lot more than just goals.

Giovinco(~9m ½)
Rossi(20m)
Vucinic

Marchisio
Pirlo
Vidal

Caceres
Chiellini
KingBarza
Licht

Buffon

Cheap, realistic and full of quality.

That's because everyone can score that many goals in Spain. Even harder in Italy to reach those numbers.
