I don't know how you can say Shaqiri has no vision - 10 assists last season, 4 assists so far this season.
In what, the Swiss league? Considering he has Frei and Streller up front I wouldn't say those figures are particularly impressive, although I like him and he is still young.

Everyone seems to have a boner for Shaqiri. I've never seen the guy except for som youtube videos that I really don't know what to do with. Is he REALLY that good? Everyone is rating him above Vucinic, Gio and the rest (which isn't to say much but still...).
Yeah same here.
Who watches the Swiss league anyway?

It not always that easy to measure the bearing the quality of a league has on the success of a player. There are other players in leagues of similar quality getting similar statistics but getting much less attention. So I guess the hype on Shaqiri comes down to the nature of those assists and goals. Watch him and make your judgement. Its pretty clear that he's a gifted player and that he was able to perform so well against Man U is testimony to that.

I've seen him several times now including against England, where he impressed against strong opponents you could say. I'm just imagining that in the Swiss league he has a lot of the ball, plays for the strongest team, and has the best strike force in the league to pass to. Anyway, it's not as if players are the finished article in terms of awareness at 20, that comes later.

Interesting. Does anyone know how he's doing this season? Don't think we would really need him to be honest with Vidal and Pazienza.

True he plays in the strongest team but we're strong too. If that is a factor he should flourish even more here (hypothetically speaking). No doubt and really it will depend on how he is developed in the next few years which will decide whether he reaches his potential or not.
