We've been buying champions and players of quality all these years?

Exactly - we are still building the backbone of this team. Since Marotta has come here we have signed only 1 champion - Pirlo. And he hasn't played half a season for us yet and I doubt he will be a starter for more than 18 more months.
I think we have more than enough wingers as of now. Selling Krasic could be an option in the winter if a=Giac could be played on the RW and we receive 15-20 mils bid for Krasic and b= his form doesn't change. I agree with those saying we should sign only exceptional quality players from now on. Perhaps depending on the form/injuries we could go for one player only in the winter market or none at all.
IMHO, sales must be the priority now. A lot of deadwood in this squad, especially upfront, and with some salaries as well. If we actually make even 5 mils from their sales and Krasic goes - then a quality (~30 mils) player could be on the cards. Another plus is he will gel with the team for the next season.
Is it going to be an LB, ST or RW? I don't care. As long as the position in question is filled for the next 5 years. Perhaps we should wait for Di Maria at the end of the year?

So what this mean, we should buy because his price is 8 mil and, he's a slight improvement from what we have, if we sell Krasic, we should look for someone better even if it means spending 15-20 mil.
We have enough average players, we should start signing some quality one, we did it this summer with like of Vidal/Licht/Pirlo/Vucinic, and we should continue doing it from now on if we wants to compete for Trophies in the future.

its not a loser mentality if we'd rather buy players of unknown quantity and potential that could turn out great, take a leaf from the likes of udinese and napoli for example. I bet there was a time when people passed up on the likes of cavani and hamsik before they are who they are now simply because they were not established names, this is exactly what Juve are trying to introduce with a lot of their signings, players of promise and great desire to succeed. That is in no ways a loser mentality, it is not me saying lets sign shola ameobi and make him our new num 10.

Yeah, the famous american-to-liverpool computer scouting systems. But in football and especially in the superclubs I don't think it will really work that well. That's why guys like Moggi are essential to this game. Taking gambles might be worth it if you are filling a solid team, but you still need the players to carry the young guns at the beginning. Kind of what Mourinho is doing in Real. Not to mention, there must be someone to sell the shirts as well...
Besides once a team goes over 25 players - motivation drops and unless you have 3 competitions to keep everyone happy - well the 'hunger' everyone is talking about is gone. They have forgotten how to eat, so to speak. We have 3 key players in this team: a GK not at his best, CB/LB who plays better his secondary position than his primary these days and a CM who would be too old in 18 months. I think its obvious what kind of players we must buy from now on.

And if taking Aguero was a chance - "because he wasn't proven to be world class" as many here said - its as likely as we'd ever get to WC. Hazard and the likes are worth it as well, but if we are to upgrade every 12-18 months a position with a marginally better player it wouldn't work out.

If I recall, we had to fight to get Krasic and he chose Juve despite receiving offers from other top clubs. The interest from mancity in Curci doesn't mean anything in that respect because Krasic was always more wanted than Curci is now.

We have no creative or fire power whatsoever except for old Pirlo. Unless Krasic restores form and Elia hits the ground running we will have a huge problem against small teams who are used to defending without holding possession in the majority of the game. We are top of the table because everyone else is absolute shit. We are marginal shit.
If this becomes a trend, Conte's energy will die out and we will return to being the breathless Ciro and Del Neri Juve.

believe it or not there were people here who were overjoyed when we signed the likes of tiago, melo, diego, even andrade, certainly more so than the likes of pepe and giaccherini to say the least.

ofcourse and i'm one of them,and not ashamed.they all looked like great signings.tiago was a beast at lyon and not only in the french league but in Ch.league aswell i liked watching him play.diego was great in germany although maybe we payed too much for him.

Conte wants hungry players, that will turn out to be future champions, not established champions, the mercato highlights this. cerci is one of Italy's best right winger in the league at the moment.

Is that why we have Pirlo? Just because players are good it doesn't mean they won't be hungry. Cerci has been impressive but he's no future world class winger and thats what we need to aim for whether they've already won titles before or not. Nani, Bastos and Shaqiri should remain on our agenda.

says who? you? people said we shouldn't have gone for hamsik when he was at brescia cause he was never going to be good according to some, now look at him. same with cavani, ill let Conte, marotta and the scouting network decide upon a players potential not you or anyone else on this forum.

conte said that quag is a starter for him and matri is benched for three times in a row now (he only played against parma and siena because vucinic was just new in the club)
maybe they both go but I am almost sure Matri won't be here next season
