No, it does not depend on how Conte turns out. Napoli have simply better players. Roma have new owners and new directors that are willing to build a competitive squad. Conte is a lost cause anyway so the coach front is already lost.
I disagree. Having a coach who can give a team an identity, style of play, and do so consistently, is more important, and that is y Napoli performed better than us last season.

I believe Conte is the biggest gamble we will take this summer regardless of who we sign, because unless he brings the above, we will continue to play poor football. It remains to be seen whether he is a lost cause.

Names are not as important to me this summer. Debating whether Bastos is a better option than Vargas, Perotti, etc, whether a 4-3-3 with Vucinic is worth switching to, whether sacrificing Melo for Vidal is a smart move, etc means little unless Conte can get his team to click to like Mazzari does at Napoli, Reja at Lazio, Guidolin at Udinese, all of whom have weaker squads on paper yet play better football.

I disagree about Napoli having a stronger squad. Hamsik, and to a lesser extent Lavezzi, Maggio and Cavani are certainly welcome alternatives over their counterparts at Juventus, but no1 else from their squad last year offers a significant improvement over their direct competition at Juventus.

I can imagine the reaction on Juventuz if Lucarelli was our cover for our top goal scorer, Cannavaro and Aronica were starters in our defense with Grava as backup, Gargano/Blasi/Pazienza/Yebda were starters over Melo/Aquilan/Marchisio, etc, etc.

I can definitely relate to the above - I also think Juve's season will be decided by how Conte turns out as a manager, above all ... and to a slightly lesser extent, but still very important, how you strengthen the team as a whole (but not by whether you get Aguero over Rossi or the other way around).

This being said, one should not underestimate the fact that all of Napoli, Lazio, and Roma (here the question is L. Enrique) have already improved their squads and are looking to strengthen them even further. Roma is probably a bit on the balance with a new coach and a defense that is yet to be reinforced but I think they will take care of the latter by the end of the summer and will be a tough opponent this year.
With all the sales, Udinese is out of the picture, I guess.

Juve are interested in Doyle, and are close to signing him. The only thing standing in the way of this transfer is Arsene "The Pedo" Wenger and his Arsenal. A person close to Doyle said: "Kevin loves his club however it would be impossible to refuse a transfer to a club like Juve".
