I think with Bastos (Nani or Nasri would be unbelievable) and a Sanchez, Aguero, or Neymar, we can definitely finish in the top 3.

I know people keep emphasizing the importance of defense, but we aren't going to get anyone better than Ziegler and Beck/Lichsteiner for the fullback positions. Perhaps next year we can add 1 or 2 World class players, and 2-3 versatile bench players, if you qualify for the champions league that is.

p.s. I don't have Aquilani in my formation, so that automatically makes mine better in terms of quality :p

:D

I know Aquaman has disappointed, but I feel he can do very well in such a role and around such players.

But, I agree with you. Bastos and Sanchez in a 4-4-2 would be very good. I see Sanchez as Inter-bound though; we have a tiny chance to sign him.

I highly doubt we could easily finish in the top 3 with that formation you posted. We may do it, but we will need a lot of luck, particularly with injuries. I'm not sold on Aquilani being a starter, let alone as the main focal point of our attack.

Matri can't play as the lone striker; he needs an SS playing closer to him, as in a 4-4-2 formation.

I personally think the formation listed below can finish top 3:

Buffon

Lichsteiner Bonnuci Chiellini Ziegler

Krasic Pirlo Inler Bastos/Nani

Sanchez/Aguero Matri
Regardless of the formation, we should learn our lesson from last season whereby injury to key players can cause a downfall like Quag. I hope we have enough good covers to address injuries and definitely to turn a game when we are losing or in a stalemate. We cant just depend the same 11 players throughout the whole season. We need at least 4 5 good bench players to come in and do the business when needed too.

But with different coach aquaman can be different.
Debatable..i don't rate him so high so i have formed an average opinion about him...he's just like sweini, knows the game, can give a killer pass but he doesn't get so much involved after passing the 25m barrier. We need him to be an attacking midfield more than cm. There are a lot of players that we can get with 15, 20 mils but we got pirlo as a starter for that position. Too bad.. we will depend on krasic and bastos to do the creeation in offensive.

So apparently Chelsea have put in a bid for Pastore recently. With Moratti convinced that Sanchez will sign with Inter, Aguero only wanting to remain in Spain and Neymar seemingly remaining in Brazil for another season, where does that leave us?

Marotta needs to pull out all the stops to buy one of these players, there's no way he could get away with signing a player of Bastos' quality and parading him as our marquee signing. I know it's been said a million times before but we really need one of the above talents if we're to draw in the crowds at the new stadium especially without any CL or EL even.

higuain-quag up front, nice

for what price ?

how about

--------buffon

licht-chiellini-bonucci-ziegler

------inler-pirlo

krasic------------bastos

----sanchez-higuain

if we can land a sweet deal for inler-sanchez, and bastos for a good price perhaps, we might push for higuain ?

I think so too and I don't think any of Sanchez, Pastore, Higuain, Benzema or any one of this caliber is even being considered.
Well it is sure we are planning on signing a top striker. Last year it was Dzeko but due circumstances it failed. This year it is Aguero, we did have an offer to Atl Madrid, but the player just doesnt want us.

Getting Higuain would be quite impossible since he is on fire for three years and keeps banging in goals. Pastore and Sanchéz? Juve can't sign top players if the likes of City, Inter, Chelsea are interested.
