Early part of the season just like everyone else was playing well. Then the entire team tanked. I can't teach you the basics of soccer on an internet forum and I won't try. I will let you go on thinking what you think and I will go on my way as well. Marchisio does a lot of "behind the scenes" work for the team, and yes he scores goals too. It's hard to explain to people what players do when if it doesn't result in a goal or something flashy on a TV screen then the player is under performing.

If this guy's name was Claudic Marchisevic, we wouldn't even speak about him.

I can apply that criteria to several of our players though

He is an hardworker and, even if he did not performed well this season, he does not deserve all the bash he is getting here. Invisible jokes about him are a bit sick in this forum.

I like how the fans under rate our (good) players just because the whole team had a bad season. I already saw this on Buffon and Chiellini, so I am not surprised at all.

That's the thing, people can all apply that to most of our team members but don't do it objectively and fairly. People love to jump on the bash Marchisio bandwagon but are completely clueless to the simple mechanics that includes 11 players working together.

The same people that argued endlessly that it was Diego's fault that he didn't play well it was "because he had a shitty team around him"....blah blah blah...those same people bash Marchisio when the EXACT SAME ARGUMENT can be used to support why he didn't play well for 60-65% of the season.

But then again, that's Tuz for you.

Just to piss as many people off as I can, suck on this:

You put Marchisio in a team like that and he will perform because he has people all around him that can FINALLY do the basics of soccer...like pass, move intelligently around the pitch with a bloody purpose, maintain possession...etc.

Our you can move him completely out of position and put a retard like Traore/Grosso behind him, a headcase like Melo who holds onto the ball too long, Sissoko that can't pass for the life of him, Aquilani who is underperforming...let's go ahead and mention a backline of 4 defenders that have no idea of possession anyways and boot the ball up field bypassing the midfield anyways.

Big difference in a potential team like that versus the one he has been stuck in for the last season...

Marchisio does a lot for the team behind the scenes, he is always a solid player on the pitch. He should be defending his starting spot, not challenging for it. A Marchisio - Pirlo - Inler midfield sounds great to me.

The problem with the modern soccer fan these days is they have been spoiled. If the player isn't flashy enough or score sweet goals then they are a bench player. I seriously question whether these people have actually played competitive soccer in their lives.

Marchisio keeps it simple, plays it simple...nothing wrong with that.
