I said he played great at times this season, and Andy calls bullshit and you agree with him yet reaffirm what I said by saying "he had some great matches". Which side of the fence are you on because you just completely contradicted yourself there.
I'm staying well clear of this nonsensical bandwagon.
I'd be happy to continue this debate just as soon as someone can pose an intelligent debate on him because in all honesty, I haven't seen one yet that either makes sense or is actually fair.
You can't argue with someone so misguided as to say that Marchisio has been "great" at any point in his career. So I'm not going to bother. Rhetoric like this only makes Marchisio fail harder when he doesn't step up to the plate of his supposed level of "greatness."

Yes, I think he had a couple of good matches over the past 3 fucking years. You said he was great, and I said he had some good matches, FYI that's totally different.

You want a good debate? Describe me at which aspect of football is Marchisio good? And put aside that he's tactically aware and well disciplined, or well composed. Tell me, what is good about him and how does he improve our team, by offering what?
Marchisio is the perfect example for "Jack of all trades, but master of none"
That's why he's a problem for our formation. You can't play him as a playmaker nor as a destroyer and him beside a playmaker is not enough for defense.
So, he can only be fully utilized in a 4-3-3, where he can do a bit of everything and not concentrating on one attribute.

Marchisio has had his fair share of chances to prove himself as a worthy player but never really took them. He showed promise and has made some amazing shots and passes but way too few. Its funny that has so much trouble doing those things consistently. IMO I don't really think he has the mentality he doesn't take risks, only sideways passing, he isn't physical enough to be a DM. He has no imagination and maybe if he did he'd follow through with his ability. But for now he's just same old boring Marchisio. Not what we need.
Monto is most likely a no, Melo is probably gone, Tiago is probably gone, and Aquilani is still in the air. That leaves Pirlo, Marchisio, Inler, Pazienza, Sissoko, and Gabriel. I don't think we'll see much of Gabriel next season, so there's your perfect 5.
